Does Calzaghe get enough respect for fighting the last 4/5 years with brittle hands?

i think even joes biggest detractors understand that fighting with ****ed up hands and still being good enough to beat peak reid, lacy, and kessler, as well as hopkins is pretty impressive. calzaghe barely ever sparred because of his ****ed up hands and when he did he wore 16oz gloves and never put weight into his punches.

I don't particularly agree with the above but I find the claz apologists a bit irritating. This of course dosent take away my respect for the fighter and his obvious greatness. He is who he is and undefeated champion with questions surrounding his place in the atg listings.
