RJJ seems to be the most likely option for Calzaghe's next fight. Last time out against Tito he won comfortably but to my eyes he wasn't impressive.

I have never seen Hanshaw or Dirrell fight, so maybe I am missing something here, but doesn't the fact that Dirrell stopped Hanshaw in 5 reflect badly on RJJ? Especially as this was only Dirrell's 15th fight.

Does RJJ's recent form suggest he can be competitive with Calzaghe who is arguably the P4P #2?

    no this fight is wank.

if it's to be joe's last though i suppose i'll have to make a date of it in cardiff/bridgend that weekend.

Joe Calzaghe was far from impressive against Bernard Hopkins, the only thing that saved him was his higher workrate. The only qaulity shots that where landed where from Bernard Hopkins.

Roy Jones had basically a shut out against Felix Trinidad had him down twice, the qaulity...lets remember qaulity of Roy Jones work compared to Joe Calzaghes was far far greater...and better more flashy combinations. The fight makes sense because Roy Jones will knock out Joe Calzaghe plain and simple..

"He called himself the legend killer..and Roy Jones is a legend"

Money wise, yes, competitiveness, no. Jones career ended when Tarver put him to sleep with one punch, since then, he hasnt been the same fighter.

For Jones yes, because he would win. For Calzaghe no, because he will lose.

Yes it makes sense for people other than boxing fans. No body has heard of Pavlik, Dawson, or Direll. It will be a good way for both to retire, because they will be making cake, plus alot of PPV sales over a mill if promoted right, that they will not make against any other fighter. Plus people might be scared that Jones really has a legit chance and they don't want to see him go out on top :hi:

No. I think RJJ is rated like 6 at lightheavy right now, there are more worthy, relevant opponents.

Absolutely not. Anyone who thinks JC picking on a way past his prime Jones makes sense is the same superfan who will claim a W over Jones as legend-killer status years later when discussing his legacy.

Everyone who you want Calzaghe to fight nobody has ever heard of besides us. People Know who Cotto is so Floyd has to fight him. So Jones vs Calzaghe does make sense for $ and make people fans of the sport. Plus can people get this threw their heads Arum doesn't want Pavlik to fight Joe yet and no time this year. Tarver and Dawson should fight. Direll will never fight like that again. Hop should retire, so who else is their Jones
