Does Canada have a legitimate top heavyweight prospect? Kean is 6'5 250 pounds. He hits hard and in the amateurs took a good punch. Speed is not his thing, but he is aggressive in the ring. He won his first 5 fight all via stoppage, and he seems to be moving up the competition rather quickly. He doesn't impress me. Muscle head that will get KO'd against a good athlete with technique. Dillon Carmon has a fight coming up he is only journeyman level but I root for him.
FYI that muscle head beat 2016 Olympic "Gold" medalist Tony Yoka at the 2012 Olympics so he can't be a total bum. i remember seeing that fight and being surprised as Yoka was already a heralded newcomer at London. Look at that useless **** Breazale I'd be willing to bet Kean does better than him.
Kean lost to Dychko in the 2012 games. No disgrace there. Dychko won bronze in the 2012 games and Silver in the World Amateur Champions. Dychko is just the type of long and mobile opponent that would out point Kean in the Olympics. However, this is the pros. Kean's got size, power, and some skills. His amateur background was decent. Agreed, he's better than Breazale.
Fingers crossed they do. More talented contenders the better, especially in that division. Can pick all the holes in him we want he is only 5 fights in.
Breazale doesn't impress me either. Kean looks slow and like a sucker for a counter right to me. Hand low, and to stiff at the waste and slow of the feet to defend properly. Congrats to him for beating Yoka but that doesn't make him a future star to me as a pro. Hope I'm proven wrong I'm all for young talent in the division. Wlad and Povetkin are old.
