Its Cinco de mayo weekend and he's fighting the son of Julio the Great.
EVERY Mexican I know is talking about this fight and I know many mexicans

Canelo Khan did 600k last year
I think this fight breaks 1 million

No, I don't think it will hit 1M, although AJ-Klitschko going to war will help the numbers a little as people are craving another big, exciting fight. I sure am, for one!

But I think it will massively outsell Dan Rafael's 400-500k estimate iirc. Robert Garcia estimated 1M, I think it will be 800-900k.

    We'll see!!

Nope. Those days are gone. About 750K in my estimation.

Considering almost every cable-subscribing eligible Mexican-American household (there are currently over 35 million total legal U.S. citizens of Mexican descent) will buy it, yeah, probably.

More. Cotto is a bigger star among boxing fans (and the allure of the PR vs. Mexico rivalry can't be understated, in that arena) but to Mexican casuals this is a bigger deal being two of their own.

I think it does 1.1 million. But hopefully that's not just wishful thinking, boxing really needs this fight to do good.

Dan Rafael is one of the worst half the time he ain't got a clue what he's saying.

I can't disagree with that. It'll be interesting to see how much buying power this will generate. I, for one, will be boycotting because I kiss GGG's ass every chance I can get. Not like that'll matter to Canelo though lol.

I haven't seen a fight get this much hype in a very long time. With that said, I live in California and amongst all the Spanish networks. It seems like a huge event, at the very least for the Mexicans in the U.S., Mexico, Hardcore fans, and possibly the American fans.

I predict that this fight will catapult Canelo Alvarez into super stardom if he wins.

    Doubt it

Maybe if it was against the real 50 year old JC superstar

I think it has a good chance. I'll tell you this, it WILL be the biggest fight of 2017, unless Golovkin accepts the Canelo's terms and fights him in September.
