Does Canelo Deserve Full Credit If He Beats Jermall Charlo In September?

Yeah totally, Canelo is the p4p face of boxing, everything he does should be commended…

 

Jermall Charlo's resume isn't really something to write home about. 2 year long layoff, holding his MW title hostage, and is a division below Canelo's weight class. Also isn't seen as a threat to Canelo.

 

He is a p.o.s.

 

Jermall is not an elite fighter, so in that sense I'll give Canelo full credit for being a non-elite opponent. I'd rather Charlo be active, but I don't trust him not to cause the Canelo fight to get delayed so I'm okay with him cashing out and getting it out of the way.

We need Canelo vs Benavidez/Morrell.

 

a 1 1/2 years inactive Korobov dominated Charlo and was robbed. Canelo deserves no credit no matter what happens, Charlo's a bum.

In a ideal world all these guys would have taken a fight with each other when Canelo signed on for Bivol at 175/GGG III.. outside of Benavidez beating a recently KO’d Caleb plant, none of these guys have really done anything to standout from one another.. stylistically of the 3 fights rumored Charlo got the best chance, but unless jermall does something afterwards it’ll be just another win over a guy.. that’s all these guys at 160/168 are anyway just a guy nobody wants to risk they neck to become THE GUY because they scared to lose and not get the payday from the REAL GUY

 

About as much as Tank gets for Ryan.
Different circumstances but about the same amount of credit.

the thing is it’s about Cash not Credit for ALL involved including Charlo.

PBC is pulling strings to cash out Charlo, positioning Benevidez & $pence to maximize profits / Nelo “PeyDey”

it’s why Benevidez is about to destroy Munguía instead of taking on Morrel.

think about it from the PBC perspective.

how much bigger of a fight is Canelo vs Benevidez if it happens after
Canelo KOs Charlo
& Benevidez KOs Munguía?

they know how to maximize profits & are instructing / advising their fighters accordingly
(Including Charlo for the “cash out”)

 

It’s still better than beating John Ryder and a past it GGG at 168.

 

Uncle Al finally decided to sacrifice one of the Charlo brothers.

 

He gets a fair amount of credit but not much more than beating Ryder at this stage.

Ryder has better wins, and Charlo just doesnt have marquee wins yet

 

Of course he gets full credit .... whatever that means. Canelo would get full credit for defeating an undefeated two division world champion who is again moving up in weight and has been inactive for more than two years.

 

You take what you can get as a fight fan, these days. It's a decent match up, considering.
