Does Canelo get too much hate?

I kinda have a problem with him ducking Messi.

Some are saying that Messi is a footballer and not a boxer: That didn't stop May vs Connor getting made.
Some are saying that Canelo isn't really ducking the Argentinian: If not the Canelo can just go ahead and publish fight contracts signed by him that don't have Messi's signature.

 

WTF?!?!

 

I wouldn't say too much. Being the cash cow means you're going to be held to a certain level of scrutiny because your drawing power will not always equal your greatness or achievements in the ring. It seems to just come with the territory when you're a superstar in any sport. I'm sure Canelo doesn't mind too much - especially when he checks his bank account .

 

Detailed post of many mentions, Canelo's ring style never was that appealing to me but there's far worse out there, in truth especially in the beginning he always reminded me of a Soccer player especially in his appearance alone along with his personality outside of Boxing again not being intriguing at least for me.

Agree & disagree with a few points especially how his fights with GGG went,

but yes i've mentioned it before on the threads that the hate for him is alarmingly too high & never ending while being induced with overused catchphrase jokes to go along with it.

 

I always heard about the manslaughter topic but couldn't find anything legit to it even once any links?,

the assault i believe was one of his brothers doing while he was present but did not involve him punching the Boxer,

And people consistently bringing up the Mayweather card in which it was just that one judge who had it for him has been brought up time & time again & is nothing compared to number of times Pacquaio who from his younger days all through his welterweight days up until his retirement was consistently getting thoroughly jobbed out by the judges throughout many of his big fights, yet it is barely ever mentioned.

 

That's just the usual universal causal fan base that attach themselves too a Superstar, the rest of boxing generals knew better especially regarding the fight with Usyk, now with Bivol he still has a shot on improving & bringing his best in the rematch if it were to happen near the future.

 

Believe it or not but People even Boxers themselves forget everything expect the official result that the judges declared on the night sadly.

 

The Judges are corrupt on their own with or without Canelos participation, just watch this last weekends Showtime Card with the same lames being employed at that in the Mainevent as well, same story never ends.

 

He gets hate because of the way he picks and chooses

 

This is the sort of dismissive reply that one has come to expect from the diehard Clenelo fans.

It was Canelo and not Messi that started this beef so now it's upto Canelo to either put up or shut up, the ball is in his court. Fellow needs to either FedEx the fight contracts to Messi or fedex his championship belts back to those organizations. We can't have a world champion who behaves like this.

Messi didn't have any idea who Clenelo even was before C started talking that ****. As far as Messi was concerned C was just some punk that didn't have the balls or shall we say cojones to step onto the football field.

This is acctually reminiscent of Julio Cesar Chavez vs Latigo Coggi. The fans wanted it, Coggi wanted it but noooo, little JCCsr just had to be too much of a ***** to get in the ring against the Argentine LC.

To make matters worse the sons of JCCsr made the decision to uphold the family tradition and avoid Latigo's son Martin Antonio Coggi. I'd put money on the grandchildren of JCCsr also ducking the Argentine grandchildren of LC at some point in the future. But yeah it interesting that Canelo also never opted to fight Coggi jr and none of his boxing brothers did either. Guess that when it comes to mexican national pride that's just not something that the Alvarez or Chavez brothers care about.

I don't mind people bashing Canelo but it's when they bash Canelo and worship fighters guilty of using his tricks. Take SRL, the original golden boy. He deserves tremendous respect for the Benitez and Hearn wins, but everything after his first retirement was a cherry-picked mess. People like Teddy Atlas ought to remember this before going off on their anti-Canelo tirades

 

Why is it when anyone criticizes Canelo youre always accused of HATING him ??? I don't hate him, I don't hate Floyd either I just have no respect for either the way they have conducted their careers. Neither would be in the position they are in without the "HELP" , both legal & illegal that they both received. Both lost several fights that the "HELP" gave them decisions they did not deserve. Its the accusers of the fans hating them
because they cannot face reality. Sad really isn't it ? Both really good fighters that chose the easy way to success rather than rely on their talents
