No actually Trout was alil quicker than Canelo and throwing many more jabs, but less than half were landing. Canelo's unscathed face proves that, while Trout, being an elite technian, defensive slick specialist, looked like he got beat by a bat. Canelo simply started to time Trout perfectly, even outjabbing the jabber late in the fight.

I was really impressed with Alvarez. Hands down, making Trout miss some 10 punches in a row. Good way to tire him out. His judge of distance was also on point, anytime he reached he recovered his balance and range quickly.

I didn't see Trout with any advantage in speed. He got off more because he was throwing arm punches. The quick, crisp punches were landed by Alvarez.

Trout wasn't as good defensively as I thought he'd be. Whenever Alvarez became aggressive, he landed his shots. This undeniable fact allowed Canelo to remain in his comfort zone and fight in his usual spurts.

Trout is no elite technician. He looked like a more hittable Winky Wright tonight... and what good is Winky if he's getting hit?

Trout is a solid, but not great fighter.

    Deal with it.

    Winky was better, btw.

Winky better? Well, no ****. Now Trout goes from beating Cotto better than Floyd himself to just solid? I think he's very good, actually. Just that Canelo remained calm and switched approaches. First, he used intelligent pressure, forcing Trout to lead. Then, later in the fight, started timing Trouts jab, making Trout miss most of his shots and countered Trout repeatedly. Trout said before the fight whether it was to box or slug it out toe to toe he was ready. And he was, but so was Canelo.
