Does Canelo give up his mandatory if he fights GGG instead of Saunders?

He's mandatory for Saunders WBO belt.

I'm not sure how this works, will WBO order him to fight BJS? If so can they give him an exception to fight GGG first?

I bet Golden Boy wish they had not " engineered" Alvarez into BJS's mandatory now...how are they allowed to fix everything ? Well is back fired, ODH will not want the BJS fight now, even Hopkins looked open mouthed afterwards.!

I will **** myself laughing if Canelo fights Saunders and BJS spanks his ass. There's nothing more that I'd like to see than a money grubbing Oscar's plans blow up in his face. At this point it seems entirely possible.

'Reynoso says it's never going to happen. If they are going to fight that type of style, he would rather have Canelo take a rematch with Lara than take a fight with Monroe.'

"[Canelo] is never going to fight with Monroe. He doesn't fight or allows a fight to happen. You have to keep going after him to catch him. If that's the case [to go up against that kind of style], it's better for us to fight with Erislandy Lara," Reynoso said.

lol.. That tells you all you need to know. Saunders is never getting any fight with Canelo and GGG probably wants no part of him now either.

With the money that Alvarez brings he could get the Saunders fight whenever he wants, before or after Golovkin win, lose or draw.

Canelo will destroy bjs so badly.

Imho, they are not at the same level, canelo is way over bj in every aspect of the game. Saunders is no Lara, lara is much better boxer than saunders. Yes, lemieux couldnt cut the ring to saunders, so what? lemieux cant cut the ring to noone.

    Don't be ridiculous :nut:

Canalo ain't got the stamina or footspeed to apply the pressure he'd need to have success against Saunders. He can't out box him at range and he can't go after him. He'd be completely outclassed.
It would be the Mayweather drubbing all over again.

BJS is ALL wrong for Gasnelo in every way possible.

The Saunders we saw against Lemmy would give Canelo hell. The Canelitas are kidding themselves if they think otherwise. In fact, the Saunders we saw vs Lemmy would be problematic for GGG too. Not saying he necessarily wins ... but he might.

Forget Canelo vs Saunders, this fight isn't going to happen.

Saunders style would defeat Canelo because he's too big. Three inches taller (if not more), longer, heavier , etc. Too quick , too slick, moves too well. Canelo has everything against him.

BJS is a horrible matchup for Canelo, I don't think they will go for that fight

How many times are we hearing from haters and nuthuggers how Canelo isn't fighting this boxer or that boxer.

He wasn't ever fighting Trout. He did.
He wasn't ever fighting Lara. He did.
He wasn't ever fighting GGG. He did.
Now he's supposedly never rematching GGG and more recently he isn't fighting Saunders.

    Same ol song, different tune.

As a reasonable person that I am, Canelo has never given me a reason to believe he would duck anyone for any reason. On the contrary, he has proven to be one of the FEW talents to take on any top fighter, regardless of risk/reward ratio.

Horrible how? I don't think it's easy to visualize how Saunders and Canelo would matchup. If I had to guess, I would think Canelo would try to commit to body work early. Saunders is not just gonna be able to land the jab on Canelo then move away like he did last night. There's gonna be a lot of mind games in there if Saunders fought Canelo. I mean I'd expect Saunders to miss a lot with his jab trying to find Canelo, and him not landing it is going to force him to fight a more toe to toe battle with Canelo than he's used to. I can't really see Canelo just chasing Saunders around the ring all night, but I guess that could happen. I really don't know what to expect if Saunders fought Canelo. Saunders vs Jacobs or Golovkin is easier to visualize, and Saunders appears to want to fight Golovkin more than he wants to fight Canelo. Every time he's asked, he calls out Golovkin, not Canelo.
