Does Canelo have what it takes to recover from the kind of knockdown that Kovalev put on Ward?

It was a bad knockdown, honestly I dont know why Kovalev didnt go in for the kill...it took Ward a few rounds to recover

Can Kovalev still land one of those early on a smaller man who already has a lot of miles?

He could land, but im gonna say that Canelo's chin is better than Wards anyway, Kov's got to put a long range beating on ginge to win, which he can even at this stage. In close Canelos gonna try and rip the body its obvious, so he has to keep range

Canelo hasn’t taken a shot from a prime 175 pound puncher like that one that hurt Ward

I didn't think it was that bad of a knock down

Maybe Kovalev thought it was a flash knockdown but when Ward came out of his corner and did his limpet routine I don’t think he could hit him.
Canelo isn’t a cling on and would likely fight back.Canelos chin seems on another level since he found out he could take Golovkin power at Middleweight but at light heavyweight who can say?

Seemed like a flash knockdown but it stunned him enough to change tactics and as much don’t like Ward,my admiration went through the roof at how dogged he can be.

Mine too. It definitely had him buzzed but it was more kovalevs ability to finish that made it a dangerous situation than it was the severity of the knockdown itself

I’m like those who said Golovkin couldn’t be hurt when it comes to Canelo.I can’t envisage him getting knocked down or out lol.

Yes that’s what I mean and I thought I saw a look of resignation on Ward until Virgil told him to go be a dog or words to that effect.looked awful but it got him through round three.absolute animal is Ward.

That was a jab that put Ward on his azz. He recovered nicely and finished on his feet. Ward has zero power and a suspect chin. Canelo has a better chin and is a better power puncher than Ward. Plus Kov has aged since that fight and I’m not sure if he has that kind of power these days.

We’ve never seen Canelo get cracked by a 175 pounder so we will know the answer soon. It’s going to take more than a stiff jab to knock down cinnamon, that’s for sure. If Kov lands that big right on the chin, it’s a different story. I like both fighters but can’t help rooting for the smaller guy. Canelo is a diva and I don’t like his management team but I give him credit for taking the fight.

Ward has zero power yet he put kovalev on ***** street with a single straight right hand. Not sure how you came to the conclusion canelo has enough power to do the same or more to a 175 pounder
