Does Carl Froch slow his opponents careers down?

After fighting Froch, several fighters have been less active.

Kessler after fighting Froch drops out of the S6
Dirrell had one fight after fighting Froch before taking some time out
Ward after fighting Froch had one fight and then took some time out
Bute has been far less active after fighting Froch
Taylor had one fight after fighting Froch before taking some time out
Kessler after fighting Froch again hasnt fought since

So does Froch slow his opponents careers down?

Imagine being exposed to the sight of that nose from close proximity for almost an hour - it's a serious trauma. You cannot be the same person anymore.

No, Froch has no control over what an opponent goes on to do after he's fought them unless he seriously injures them and they're no longer the same afterwards, which certainly wasn't the case with Ward, Dirrell, etc.

Pretty much Bute was the only one that Froch damaged in the manner this thread implies...

Dirrell "retiring" had nothing to do with Froch and was from an Abraham foul, a visit to Dr. Shaw Hi, and perhaps an Academy Award nomination snub.

The reasoning for Kesslers' temporary retirement was apparently long term damage to his eye not particularly accumulated in that fight. Plus Kessler beat Froch so that is a super stretch.

While Froch's KO of Taylor was savage and a reason for his retirement, I think it's safe to say that if you are claiming Froch played a role that his role was equal or lesser than the role Kelly Pavlik played and was certainly lesser than the role that Abraham played; as Abraham's KO was the one that actually forced temporary retirement onto Taylor.

Andre Ward fought twice after Froch and then was stalled from the legal battle with his promoter. Froch literally played no role other than getting Ward higher paydays which perhaps if Ward hadn't beaten Froch he would have accepted lesser money and maybe would have fought an extra time in that span. Impossible to say and utterly pointless to speculate. Froch played no role in Wards' recent inactivity.

Froch beating Kessler in the rematch... While not a huge stretch to say at all I think if you believed this then you would be completely blind to everything about Kessler going into this fight.

the super 6 itself was particularly arduous, resulting in a lot of these time outs. froch just happened to be in the s6.

He can't be that ugly if he's got a gorgeous girl like Cordingley and a settled family, his nose is the only over-rated thing about him, not that bad. Look at ellerbe for instance, he has one extraordinary conker on him.

Taylor fought Froch, had one fight after and then didnt fight again for over 2 years
Dirrell fought Froch had one fight after and then didnt fight again for nearly 2 years
Ward fought Froch had one fight after and then didnt fight again for over a year
Bute fought Froch had one fight after and then didnt fight again for over a year
Kessler fought Froch 1st time then didnt fight for over a year, fought Froch a 2nd time and hasnt fought since

    What is incorrect with that?
