Fwiw, if we still had 15 rounders at champ level, CEJ might have beaten both Groves and Saunders.
People claiming he got 'schooled' might be right from a technical standpoint but facts are that his losses are razor thin and all his opponents looked fu(ked after a fight with him, win or lose.

 

He was exactly the same Groves as the one who schooled Eubank Jr just a fight before.

 

Razor thin?! That Groves victory was comprehensive.

 

He clearly was not the same fighter. Mentally there was something missing and many boxing journalist touched on this point after the fight. Still a great performance from Callum but not against vintage Groves. I wonder how much the Eubank beating took out of him both physically (shoulder) and mentally (recovery) or were there other underlying issues. Groves was certainly unsettled in the build up.

 

Uh....I didn't think it was so comprehensive myself, clear perhaps.
Let's be real, it was a victory for Groves but it cost him any chance of winning the competition.
His shoulder fell off and he looked like he'd had a skiing accident and hit a tree!

Froch took a piece, Jack took a piece, CEJ took a piece....
He rushed back for Smith and was depleted IMO but I admit it's totally subjective and I have no tangible proof to back my assertion. Just calling it as I see it....

 

Eubank damaged Groves.

 

He lost nearly every round against Groves and got knocked down multiple times. A points win couldn't have been much wider.

The only reason he could have beat Groves is because his shoulder popped out, even then it was questionable if he even won that round, he was so useless.

 

So Groves declined in 7 months did he? Complete rubbish, he was exactly the same it's just that your boy got exposed for the mediocre fighter he is Chris Snr, deal with it.

Well he is a world champion now ffs, can't get exposed when u are the champ

He beat a good fighter to get the belt too

 

If he loses it'll be because he's been beaten by somebody else who's very good, not because he's been "exposed". He's now proved himself as one of the best current super middleweights and right now he's the man to beat.
