As William Munny of Missouri, killer of women and children and just about anything that walked or crawled at one time or another would say..."Deserves got nuthin' to do with it."

What's that got to do with the point I was making? Oh I get it, you're changing the argument to suit your agenda. An immediate rematch isn't necessary everytime there's a close decision.

If Cotto loses to Pac, he can still face Clottey. Hell.. If he beats Pac, he can still face Clottey (unlikely but still..)

If Cotto loses to Clottey though, Pac vs Cotto will never happen. So the immediate rematch option is a bull**** one. Not hard to figure out.

Especially given the circumstances. This wasn't Holyfield v Lewis here.

Clottey can only blame himself for losing that fight, by thinking he was ahead and taking his foot off the pedal he threw the fight away therefore he doesn't deserve no rematch.

No.... not an immediate one, he had his chance at cotto, and simply didnt win.... regardless of how close it was, he will now have to wait. I really only believe in immediate rematches in the case of a champion losing his title to a challenger in a competetive fight, and then i agree a rematch is in order.

Cotto earned the right to move past clottey onto bigger things like Pac and Mayweather, after hes fought them, then yes i think clottey should he continue winning, should get another crack at cotto. But if he couldnt beat cotto being able to land his right at will because of cottos blood soaked eye... i dont see him ever being able to pull out the W.

I voted no. He has nobody to blame but himself fo losing that fight. Forget the fact that Cotto was badly cut. Clottey was inactive for minutes at a time in a fight in which he couldn't afford to be. The decision was correct.

We get a good fight like Pacman vs. Cotto. Cotto got himself the fight, not because he had the title. If Clottey won, Pacman was not going to fight him. And Quartey did not deserve a rematch with Oscar. He fought tentatively and only fought in spurts.

No way i thought Cotto won that fight pretty clearly IMO 7 rounds to 5
Just because it was a close doesnt mean there has to ba a rematch

Not only do I wanna see Pac v Cotto but Clotteys antics after the "throw" and the punch to the back of the head didn't do him any favours !

ABSOL-****ING-LUTELY THERE SHOULD BE A REMATCH...WITH BOTH CLOTTEY AND MARGARITO!!!! First of all, Cotto doesn't deserve this so called "MEGA-FIGHT".
Cotto is about to get a HUGE financial reward...FOR WHAT???

I have talked to alot of Puerto Rican fight fans...and they swear, I am the biggest Cotto HATER! But that is far from the truth!!! I just hold fighters TO A HIGHER STANDARD!!! Cotto is the MOST UN-IMPRESSIVE fighter to fight in a MEGA-FIGHT (Nov. 14th vs. Pacman) in my memory! His TOTAL LACK OF DEFENSE was severely exposed by two soft punching Jr. Welters Torres y Corley...in a series of fights against NON-POWER-PUNCHING competition (Abdulev, Corley, Branco, Torres, Malinaggi, Urkal, Quintana and even Zab "Mr. Undiscipline" Judah).

Then once he stepped up against the ELITE (And I am using that word "ELITE" very loosely, because Margarito y Clottey are B+ fighters NOT ELITE) Cotto looked UN-IMPRESSIVE! Yeah, he beat Mosley, but no-one said he looked DOMINATE!!! Margarito made him look like an AMATUER...Yeah I know every Cotto fan will say "MARGARITO CHEATED BLAH BLAH BLAH! Question? Clottey y Paul Williams went the distance with Margarito and their faces didn't look like a TAMPON...So did Margarito cheat in those fights? Cotto's lack of DEFENSE was exposed...AGAIN!!! And I remember Cotto landing BOMBS on Margarito and he was WALKING STRAIGHT THROUGH HIS SHOTS!!! PLASTER HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT!!!

He and Clotttey were fighting with "cuts and /or injuries"...A REMATCH IS NEEDED AND WANTED!!! Oh yeah...and sandwiched in between these three fights were two bums...Jennings and a guy from the DAM CONTENDER Alfonso Gomez...REALLY??? WOW!

Cotto is and was always being HYPED because he is a BORICUA from the LA ISLA DEL ENCANTO. If he was from the States (NY, CT, Philly or FL) he would be just another Puerto Rican fighter. Soley because there are several talented Boricua fighters from the states, that are more skillful, more well-rounded...yet, THEY GET NO LOVE!!!!! Because Luis Collazo gets no respect!!!

**** Clottey, I much rather see Cotto unify by beating Mosley and/or Berto.
