Don't know, but he did just make a fool out of himself infront of a world stage. I imagine he got paid well though, so he'll be crying into wads of 100 dollar bills and that should lighten his mood.
He will fight again. And for his sake, he will have to make a better showing of himself, if it is possible for him to alter his style at least slightly. One pitiful showing isn't going to ruin his career at this stage, but he can forget ever being able to land a fight with Floyd or Shane unless he starts producing KO's ...fast. Unless he can prove that his most recent performance was an anamoly, the paying public will be very unforgiving. He is moving up to 154, and who knows? Maybe he won't be weight drained as he claims he presently is, and will be able to actually fight with more assertion and power.
I'll be honest I would like to see a Clottey vs Margo rematch, a Clottey vs Cotto rematch, Clottey vs Berto, or Clottey vs the loser of Mayweather/Mosley. Just cause Pacquiao made him look like a scared little girl doesn't mean the others will
He was never really a marquee name, crowd drawer type of fighter. He wont carry a main event of a big time card by himself. He'll fight in the undercards and people might still like his performances. Anyway, his prize money will make him feel more secure about his family's future, and all he has to concentrate on from now on, his how to make his boxing career be better.
agreed but i dont expect him to be the main feature of a showcase fight anymore like he was against Shamone Alvarez
Clottey's all about money. No wonder he was so giddy when he found out he got a match with Pac. That's basically like Arum telling you he's going to give you over a million dollars. I wouldn't rule out the possibility of a staged match because Clottey is not a marketable guy so I can why Arum doesn't want him to win.
My reputation as the only Clottey fan left in the world is well-deserved. Fire away motha****a, fire away.
