I was watching KOTV on demand the other day and saw there own list.... and noticed Lennox Lewis or Winky Wright couldn't make it yet ctto was at number seven? Ridiculous!

I don't rate Cotto any higher than Hatton (although most disagree) and I wouldn't put Hatton in the top twenty.:-( Why should Ctoo be there then?

Cotto was even one place above Roy Jones Jnr. for **** sake! :fire

Could you throw up the top ten Ben. Just wanna see who's in it before i say anything. I'm a big Cotto fan but Winky and Lennox deserve to be in that list.

I'm sorry mate, it sounds lame but I don't know the top 5. We'll have to wait until the next episode to find that out but they had Winky and Lennox in the honourable mentions list. I was disgusted!

Lennox only fought 7 times in the last decade and he lost one of those fights. He's obviously much higher on ATG lists than Cotto but in terms of 2000-2010 I don't think it's that unreasonable to have Cotto higher.

    Oh Ok :good
Well i feel Cotto is a heavily underrated boxer with sublime array of punches. As for his legacy of the last decade.....it's hard..he's beat many world champions current or past and also produced some fantastic title fights...he's beat a future HOF so he's got to be in and around the top ten for me. Two Weight World Champion as well and also beat some very good champions.

If he didn't run into Margo who knows what he might of gone on to but i wish he got a better trainer from earlier in his Career...he could of been greater then he is imo.

EDIT: looking at his stoppage's in world title fight's he's got a fantastic stoppage record as well. I think he has to be in the top ten. 7 is a high ranking but he gotta be in there...the boy done good.

He beat Botha, a past his peak Tyson, Klitschko, Grant, Tua and Rahman very impressively in my opinion, although he did lose to Rahman first time with one of those one punch wonders.... but that wasn't vintage Lewis that night to say the least. Aswell as beating Holyfield and becoming undisputed heavyweight champion just before 2000 (I may be cheating using that as an example but it's worth a mention anyway)

Cotto beat a past it Judah, a rusty looking Mosley and beat Clottey by running for his dear life! I'm choosing Lewis.

That's possibly the most ridiculous thing I've read on here in ages. Cotto's resume is a who's who of the toughest fighters of the last four years. Hatton's is one good win in Tyszu and that is it.

I can certainly understand not putting Cotto in the top ten, but to say he's no better than Hatton is just plain ignorance.

I see your point up to there. He boxed well off the back foot. Dirrell run Cotto boxed. With one eye might i add aswell. He get's a lot of stick i feel for him because out of all these guys he's the one that say's yeah i fight him because the fans want to see it. I can understand your point on Lewis but they both could be in the top 10.

Cotto is underated, he has done tremendous in his career, 2 weight world champion beating the top fighters in the division, His career is totally different to Hattons, Hatton has not fought anywhere near the level Cotto has through out his career, he deffinetly deserves to be up ther.

What has Cotto done achived that Hatton ain't aswell?

Both two weight world champions. Both good stoppage records. Cotto might be a bit technically better but Hatton would of never quit like Cotto did against Margarito.

Pacquiao may have made Hatton look worse as a fighter compared to Cotto but look how much better Hatton looked dealing with Malignaggi than Cotto did facing him. It may have been because Cotto was drained at making light welter, but Hatton just looked ****ed from all the over training he did against Manny. I think Ricky would have just lost on points against Pacquiao if he came into that fight more like he did in his previous fight that year.

Hatton wins over Tszyu and Castillo, which were his best wins.... and Cotto's wins over Mosley and Judah were his. To me, Hatton should probably be one place behind Cotto.

Top 10 might be pushing it a little but it's not that unreasonable. Cotto has consistently faced, and beaten, very good opposition and for that he deserves a lot of credit.

As for Mosley looking "rusty" - he didn't look too bad before or after fighting Cotto, so should Cotto not get some credit for making him look rusty (which I don't think he did anyway)?

Cotto was weight drained severely and also Malignaggi boxed to his natural style where as against Hatton he was boxing to different orders and struggled. As for quitting against Margarito...he's body gassed completely out he had nothing left to give at all. He was gone...he could off been badly badly injured if that went on another round. Considering he could of been fighting a man with concrete wraps.

Hatton's stoppage record at ''world class'' level is not as good. Many point victory's compared to Cotto's record at ''world class'' level

So you don't think Juan Urango, Collazo, Castillo, Mousa, Malignaggi and Tyszu were tough to beat?

Hatton was a light welter by the way, and I'm obviously talking pound for pound here.... I think Hatton would of beat anyone Cotto has. Let me also point out that I believe that if the 'real' Mosley had turned up against Cotto he would have knocked him out (just like he would of done with Hatton)

    Cotto ain't underrated, he's overrated!

your reasoning's flawed. Cotto was facing a much better calibre of opposition, winning a world title in something like his 21st pro fight. He beat Maussa before Hatton did, and looked better doing it. The Malignaggi that Cotto faced was much better than the one Hatton did - Paulie's never looked right since fighting Cotto.

That's just ******ed, mate, and certainly not criteria for rating someone higher. Cotto was getting beaten by someone who was likely wearing loaded gloves - ridiculous to take issue with that. Hatton's never been in a fight quite like that one.

Both well past prime, and in Castillo's case, completely shot. Hatton also gets Urango as a credit.

Cotto also has Quintana, Clottey, Torres and the Malignaggi win, plus he was actually competitive with Pacquaio for a short while, whereas Ricky just got flattened.

Alibis alibis... bollocks. He looked ****ed because he was a well managed but ordinary fighter in against a true elite. Nothing to do with over training - he got ****ed up, plain and simple. Hatton was always getting knocked out - he never had the timing, the skill and the technique to do what Cotto was able to do for four rounds.

Hands low, rushing in, swinging wildly, unable to reset without clinching. He's as average as they come.
