First off very excited for this fight. Massive Cotto fan so will be cheering him on. I assume he's going to get outclassed by mayweather and probably stopped on cuts or tko. So i mightbe reaching but i've been thinking of how he might be able to win. Alot of things Castillo did well, Cotto does well, even slightly better. He fights of a crisp jab. Castillo jab was quite good against may.But cotto is better. Castillo sometimes chose to wait out floyd and counter. Again cotto can do this better than castillo. Castillo fought with clever agrresion, cotto can do this to. Castillo got in close with the jab then pounded the body. Cotto can do this too? But unfortunately Cotto doesnt have: The Mexican Will Castillo has. That Screw ball half jab/upercut that castillo used to very good effect. As good a chin as Castillo. Thoughts? Am I reaching here?
YEs, but Castillo had success because of his size and durability as much as anything. Cotto is not as smart defensively and he doesn't apply pressure quite as well
I agree. I expect cotto to be slightly heavier than floyd, but not as much as castillo was. I agree with castillo applying better pressure.
Hell No and anybody saying it is crazy. Cotto fights the same type of "style" as Henry Burselus but he is a better fighter than him.
cotto needs to come in the ring at about 167 168 and apply smart pressure for him to have any chance at beating may castillo and cotto style are far from the same imo
