calzaghe had to fight many bums that were mandatories....it sucks but boxing is a job, a grind out for life you cant just have super fights every 3-4 months
Cotto fought his mandatory against Urkal in March' 07 don't they have to wait a year before they name an interim champ. It's not like he has not been active.
I've watched boxing for years and i still don't understand how the organizations pick these no named mandatories for title's....if your a belt organization you should be trying to make money so why wouldn't you make the top contenders your fighters mandatory....any champ that has a belt should be in the top 4 to fight your fighter as a mandatory it would make more money and more sense and it would put to rest whose who of a bunch of champions
