Does Cotto improve if he goes to someone like Roach pre his next bout with Foreman?

I don't think he developed or went forward at all in his last camp and if anything, it looked as though his trainer was there in name only and Cotto was doing his own thing?

    Thoughts?

He most certainly would if Cotto was under the same PED's that Pacquiao has been under.

Any trainer with experience/knowledge and looking to improve Cotto would help. In other words, anything but a yes man should help, thus yes Roach - as many other trainers - would help.

I think it would help him but only a limited amount. Truth is Cotto just isn't great. He's a very good fighter.

Good for you. I do think Cotto would be significantly better off than he would otherwise but I think now that the facial damage has been done by Margo and Pac, he's going to be much more predisposed to swelling as though he were ten years older and same goes for possible scar tissue around the eye from the Clottey fight. He'll be fighting at a disadvantage by a mile from where he was pre-Margo I bet. But his corner for Pac, whether it would've mattered or not was one of the worst and most useless I've ever seen. He should've taken up Steward on his offer to train him for Pacquiao.

I disagree but not to an extent that I find your opinion unreasonable. I think he's very arguably great. Maybe borderline as so far proven. If he's not at least borderline great, he's a hell of an over achiever.

Yeah, Pacquiao is in a real hurry to prove his innocence by walking away from 30 million.
Check that, running away from 30 million!

No, With Cotto it's "What U see, Is what U get".
To far along in his style to make any major changes, IMO

That said, **** it why change, Dude is still a bad ass.

****ing troll. They guy doesn't give a **** about your agenda on Pac. He is talking about Cotto. Man get over the fact that JMM lost to Pac. He will always be remember as 2nd best.

    Now back on topic.

Yes having the right corner can help Cotto. His corner in his last fight had no clue. Someone who can break down an opponents style and put together a game plan for him. Another problem is Cotto himself. He needs someone to tell it to hom like it is. Will he be able to handle that?

    this is esb :D

but to answer the question...eh, maybe mabye not. he put on a masterclass against margo before being overwhelmed. cotto isnt the type of fighter to walk his opponent down and he is open to being walked down. at this stage of a fighters career, its hard to do anything about that. i'm not sure what roach could do.

hatesrats is right, **** it he's still a badass.

I think Cotto on PED's would make it real easy for any trainer to break down an opponents style nice and simple!:bbb:bbb:bbb:bbb

    Yes.

A genuine trainer would put a foot up his arse if he was as casual about defense as he got away with when he was essentially his own boss.
