Does Crawford have a chance vs Canelo at 168?

I don't get why anyone is surprised by his reaction to the whole Canelo situation. When do people in his position ever really get told the word "no" in life? It will be in rare situations and when you have that type of money/power you can imagine feeling I will always get my way, no matter what. I'm not surprised right now Canelo has said no to them, if there is one guy in boxing who doesn't need them it's Canelo. He makes a fortune doing what he does and what can Turki give him? More money? Maybe, but when earning fortunes and doing things your own way, is it worth earning a few more million to have someone else dictate? The fight Turki wants for Canelo all seems to be about Crawford, I don't see why in anyway Canelo would fight Crawford, I can see why Crawford wants Canelo, but for Canelo I don't see where there is any appeal to that fight besides money and we know money wise Canelo will make it with whoever he fights so the risk vs the reward fighting someone who was three weight divisions below you, now two after Crawford won his first and only fight so far at 154lbs, there is still another 14lbs difference between the two fighters.

 

I'm not really interested in Alalshikh as a person. I just want to see good boxing, so I couldn't care less.

 

Was hoping Canelo responded to that last message with some home truths about the whole Saudi sport washing and what’s going on. That said it would probably make himself blacklisted.

Would be funny to see how Eddie squirms this one though if he did.

Proper rank how people who are referring to him as “his excellency” though. It’s some appointed Saudi government official, nothing more or nothing less. Imagine being that much of a stooge that you’re calling a foreign government official his excellency. Especially though involved in boxing who try to act all controversial and mighty but in truth are totally kiss asses for a pound note.

Be interesting to see what reaction Turki gets at the Wembley show (not that he will have any interaction with the general public) but I’m imagine he will flash up on the big screen from time to time. Whether it would just be a simple positive reaction to making the big fights (which i suspect it will be) or a deeper reaction relating to all the controversy caused by the Saudi government and a chorus of boos etc. I suspect that there may be some planned disruption by groups such as Amnesty International whether that will be an outside protest/demonstration or a Just Stop Oil type with the intention to invade the ring to stop the boxing taking place. We will see…

I've said on here before but he's only worth £2m. Obviously a lot to us on here but it's a pittance in terms of Saudi money. He's just a front for the sports washing government and their new 'entertainment' campaign. You get clowns like Bellew and Sam Jones acting like the money is coming straight out of his own pocket. It's like praising Guardiola for Man City spending a lot of money.

So wait are people here saying that they would rather canelo cherry picks his opponents for the rest of his career? Canelo gets excellent money regardless so he is happy to keep that going and fight who and when he wants and not so much who and when the fans want.
