His hands are too slow to punch hard. Because you weigh 330lbs means ****. You can weigh 500lbs and you can't punch out without the necessary attributes. He lacks in speed, timing, he does not transfer his body weight effectively so they are mostly arm punches.
Valuev doesn't punch hard for his size. Haye definitely is the harder puncher of the two, no question.
Danny Willliams said during their sparring sessions he felt Hayes power and it was greater than Tyson's and Vitali's! :deal Now of course, Danny may be hyping him up because it was only a sparing session and they are friends. However it's pretty bloody obvious that Haye hit's harder than Valuev.
Valuev, like a lot of guy's does'nt punch his weight. Haye punches ABOVE his weight. :deal There some big mofo's out their that can't break an egg and snmaller guy's who could KO a horse.
Valuev should hit harder than Tyson, Foreman and Shavers by this guys logic, but i guess he doesnt hit Harder than Butterbean?
Valuev doesn't hit as hard as Haye but he also takes a shitload of damage. Haye won't take what Valuev took. Haye better be smart and keep Monte on the end of his jab. If this turns into a brawl I give Monte a real good chance at pulling it out. He's already shown he has tremendous heart.
:rofl Valuev in a Garbage Truck....... :rofl :rofl Sorry, I'm laughing so hard thinking about Valuev driving through a wall in a Garbage truck that my ribs are starting to hurt! Come on, what about the straw in a storm being driven through a board!! Valuev punches like a half stuffed medicine ball, Haye is like a softball out of a bazooka! :bbb
It's hard to say, my money would be on Haye though. Valuev is a huge man, but like many have already pointed out, he does not transfer his 330 pounds well into punches, Haye on the other hand is extremely heavyhanded for his size and knows how to get his weight behind a punch. If Valuev fought Haye, my money would be on Valuev, Haye may punch harder, but the guy cant take a punch well at all, Valuev can.
I agree with your physics equation, but it doesn't account for skill -- which has tremendous impact on punching power. Let's say both punch: Valuev at 20 miles per hour Haye at 25 mph At impact, effectively how much weight is transfered into the punch? If Haye can transfer 60% of his weight into a punch, and Valuev only manages 30%, Haye is clearly the harder puncher. :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl (Sorry, I'm still chuckling about Valuev driving through a wall in a Garbage truck, the image in my head is priceless!!)
all this said, i'm sure valuev hits hard enough but he's so slow and easy to slip that he hardly ever lands clean - wasted size he is.
Most heavyweight probably punch harder than Valuev, given his poor technique and late start in boxing.
when valuev fully commits to his punches like in the barrett fight in round 11 he has decent power. remember that monster right hand that barrett ran right into?
Lucky for most of Valuevs oponent, he is an arm puncher and doesnt know whow to put weight behind a blow. Still i imagine those arm punches are still pretty heavy...
