Luck is the residue of Design by definition.
So in this specific case, It is fact that Davis was scared to engage, on his backfoot mostly and holding on for dear life when in the pocket for over 5 rounds. So when I said " It was a lucky counter " it is in consideration of how Davis was performing. Not Literal.

Go back and watch it, Tank was stunned on several occasions. He hid it well, he usually does. I couldn't care less about Tank hurting his hand. Guys lose by TKO all of the time, because of injuries, one doesn't get gifted sympathy rounds by virtue of an injury. Cruz should've won that fight, and that's not some egregious outlier opinion. Tank does have a decent chin and seems to have a degree of mental toughness. But if slow guys with average pop like Garcia, Cruz, Barrios and Romero can put the fear of God into him, and make him keep his hands at home. Ryan will petrify him stiff.

So giving up ring generalship and aggression for over 5 rounds was all a tactic? It looked like Davis was scared to engage to me. Davis should have been able to steam roll Romero and was unable to do that.

Yea, you’re right. He was just terrified. He just got him with a lucky punch.

Nah I've seen that fight plenty of times and he wasn't badly hurt nor was he anywhere near ***** st. Being on ***** street is what Andrade did to Bute in their first fight at the end of it.
With that said Cruz couldn't beat a one handed fighter. Sorry tank won and was in control until he clearly hurt his hand if they rematched you wouldn't put a dime on Cruz and neither would anyone else here who's touting him. Now I will say this if tank is simply looking to load up or catch garcia with a clean counter by getting out worked and losing rounds he's playing a dangerous game. He will have to be more active and pressure garcia and back him up. I'm still not sold on garcias footwork or his defense or head movement he's easy to hit and his chin is way more suspect than tank's. This should be a great fight for as long as it lasts I can't wait
