Does Dawson present a more difficult challenge, to Calzaghe, then Kessler did?

Clearly if you think Kessler's a ***** for ducking Miranda (ignoring the fact that he didn't, as has been well documented...) then you must think similar of Dawson for unequivocally ducking Diaconu (who's slightly less of a nobody than Miranda)....

    What's Johnson's mindset?

Mindset comes from circumstances. Johnson went to Germany to fight Ottke and the UK to fight Woods because he had to. His record and drawing power dictated that. Likewise Calzaghe had to take title fights in less than favourable circumstances early in his career (check out his British title fight against Delaney, for example). But because he kept winning and built a big enough fanbase that became less of an imperative.

Johnson's career already contains a bigger percentage of fights in Florida than Calzaghe's does fights in Wales. Do you think Johnson wouldn't have had those fights against Ottke or Woods or Branco on home turf if he had the option?

Dawson is heavier faster and taller plus he is a southpaw.

would be a good fight but I don't expect Calzaghe to take it.

**** off does he! He's just another over rated american fighter (like Lacy and Pavlik) who IMO lost against Glen Johnson.

He would possibly be Joe's "livest" ever challenge. He's has a better record and is a tougher test then Kessler IMO, and Hopkins was recently twice beaten and 43 when Joe finally took him on - Calzaghe was a red hot favourite going into that fight - he got a fright in the end.

Yes, Dawson would be one of if not the "livest" opponent Joe has ever taken on - and yet people say he is unproven, and not worthy of a fight.

I think he provides more problems for Joe then Kessler does (a staight line type fighter suited to Joe's attack).

Southpaw and speed make it more difficult, but I don't think it's enough to beat JoCal.

Just look at all the naive American boxing fans who believe Chad Dawson has the slightest chance against Joe Calzaghe. Its pityful, but at least you guys have such faith in your fighters. Dawson against Calzaghe would be like Pavlik against Hopkins or Calzaghe Lacy - a complete humiliation for the young puppy.

Calzaghe - Kessler was a huge event, a real superfight, Dawson however talented isnt in that league.

It received the worst ever viewing figures in the entire history of Showtime, I believe.

Dawson V Calzaghe would have to be really going some to do so bad.

it was HBO and just because the average joes in America have limited boxing knowledge doesnt make it not a super fight, it had everybody who knew boxing world wide talking, sold about 50,000 tickets at the millenium stadium and was the first undisputed title fight at the weight...

Like sean said, Dawson fought Antonio 'Rocky 6' Tarver in a good title fight and brought 300 fans to the table.

Calzaghe - Dawson isnt on the same scale as Calzaghe - Kessler.
