Does Dawson present a more difficult challenge, to Calzaghe, then Kessler did?

He was dropped by Jones elbow you flid, he got back up and schooled him for 36 minutes. Same with Bernard ' got schooled by a white boy' Hopkins.

Dawson may fight nothing like Lacy but he would be humilated all the same.

As for Orion100 he's just a Calzaghe hating troll. He responds to any Calzaghe thread slating the man. I wouldnt be surprised Orion100 is Youtubes very own bobsinno....

Americans have plenty of boxing knowledge. They know talent when they see it. They don't jump on glass jawed hype jobs like Amir Khan. And they're not going to tune in to see some slap artist fight a robot.

i said the 'Average Joes' in America, not all American boxing fans. though your childish response to my post even has brought that into question.

Also if they know talent when they see it, why is an undefeated champ and next big thing like Dawson drawing only 300 fans?:think

I don't see what's childish about the truth.

There are a ton of talented fighters and athletes in this country. Some of them are bound to get overlooked. Many other countries are much smaller than America. Athletic talent is much more rare in other countries. As a result, anyone with above average talent gets supremely overhyped.

Well yeah, obviously. It's a bout between a Welshman and a Dane in Cardiff. We know most of the U.S. fans don't give a fcuk about anything that doesn't happen in their own backyard. If Vazquez-Marquez was on ITV I dare say nobody would watch it either. Doesn't stop it being a massive fight in the States, Mexico and to serious boxing fans the world over.

While you were doing your research did you see that HBO has a lot more subscribers than Showtime?

I knew it was one of the American networks - I get them mixed up - cheers.

My response was to someone stating that Kessler V Calzaghe was a huge mega fight - or words to that effect - and that Dawson v Calzaghe couldn't come near.

I don't think too many people would put Dawson v Tarver in the Mega fight bracket. Kessler V Calzaghe did very poor figures either way - for what was expected - that's ultimately the point I was making, and stands.

He has proven to not be able to stand up to pressure, and Calzaghe is the ultimate at applying nonstop pressure. Workrate, chin, experience, stamina, & skill all go to Calzaghe.

I'd still like to see the fight :)

Yes, because firstly he's less motivated than he was. That is clear from his interviews. Fighting at the top level without top motivation is a recipe for distaster. At the time, Calzaghe had all the motivation in the world to become undisputed champion.

Also, Dawson gives him a few new things to worry about that he's never experienced. Somebody quite a bit taller, with similar speed and also southpaw. Joe hasn't fought many southpaws.
