Does Dawson present a more difficult challenge, to Calzaghe, then Kessler did?
Well yeah, obviously. It's a bout between a Welshman and a Dane in Cardiff. We know most of the U.S. fans don't give a fcuk about anything that doesn't happen in their own backyard. If Vazquez-Marquez was on ITV I dare say nobody would watch it either. Doesn't stop it being a massive fight in the States, Mexico and to serious boxing fans the world over.
Surprisingly more people in the UK and Ireland watched, on the TV live, David Haye v Monte Barrett (343,000) then Calzaghe V Kessler. Perhaps the fight times had something to do with that. Having said that... Calzaghe v Hopkins, Calzaghe V Jones... had bigger UK and Ireland audiences as well.

Cunningham rarely got any press here and would've won had he been able to avoid 1 or 2 of those knock downs, Pavlik is still a good fighter and will continue to dominate his division. As far as Lacy, **** happens. At least he went 12 rounds.

Here is a video of a truley overhyped fighter who is rich beyond imagination despite not beating anyone of note;

I would assume (though I don't have numbers) that Setanta's subscriber numbers have grown in that time which is probably a more relevant factor.

These are just 3 recent examples, i could go on and on about over hyped average talent from the States...

But its important not to lose the point, Kessler was a bigger a fight than a potential Dawson fight. Though im comfortable with Dawson being called the 3rd best light heavy and a decent fight for Joe Calzaghe.

:lol: True, Khan was/is overhyped. All in all a very enjoyable clip.

Read the thread title, that's not the point. The point is that Dawson is a tougher fight for Calzaghe than Kessler.

ABSOLUTELY!!! No question about it. The dynamics are far different with Kessler and Dawson. Both are very good fighters but Dawson has more demensions and natrual ability that Kessler doesn't have. And I'm not knocking Kessler...but there shouldn't be any question to whom would present a more difficult challenge to the Great Joe C. There are few who pose a threat to Joe presently but Chad is definitely the most serious on bar none.

About the same. A fast, flashy southpaw who showed good movement against Tarver last time out would present a world of problems for Joe.
I also think Kessler would give Joe nightmares as well if they rematched as Calzaghe seemed a little slower in the legs against RJJ.
Either of these two guys would make for a more exciting matchup than a rematch with Hopkins. Sadly I can't see it happening.

not in any way shape or form
kesslers style is much harder for calzaghe
calzaghe would kill a run away chicken like dawson all night long
