DeGale vs Groves is the real main event. The media focus will be on them. Does it help Clevery having the spotlight of him???

I don't think so really. He stole the show on the first magnificent 7 show so he can clearly handle the big occasion and pressure. The main help for cleverly for me is having the fight in Britain, it would be a 3/4 times harder fight in germany

It helps bring in the fans and a bigger gate so it should help Clev, but, it's overshadowing his title fight. It's odd because although he is interim, he doesn't gain a great deal by beating Braehmer because he's not the real champ, hey wait a moment he isn't even in the Ring Magazines top 10!

For me, one the most likely outcomes of Degale v Groves is a scrappy fight where both look like they have work to do before being genuine world class. Now if this is the case and then Nathan Cleverly manages to put on a great fight and win.. it will magnify his performance even more and be good for him in the long run.

As for it effecting his preparations or performance, I can't see it making much difference. Clev's known about this fight for a long time now and everything should be ready. It's his chance now and he'll be 100% focused for it no matter what was on the same bill as him.

I think Nathan likes the spotlight and tbh it's what you dream about being the main man and stepping out. Graduation night you could say. I think he'd prefer all eyes on him cos he's cocky type of fighter.

I've not seen much of Jurgen so can't tell what type of fight this will be. Nathan will need the crowd on side and a level headed approach. The Murat fight suited him down to a tee.

What problems does Braehmer present to Clev??

Its a bit mad that the Clev Braehmer fight is being overlooked could be a really interesting fight.

It wont help him when he gets KTFO!!!
Cleverly is not in the same class as Braehmer and even he is not world class.
This fight has come a few years too quickly for Cleverly imo.

Could have a hard time getting the fans on his side seeing as about half the crowd will be deflated by the time he fights

I'm looking forward to watching the Degale v Groves fight then realising we still have a world title fight coming up and getting all excited again.

What helps Cleverly the most is Brahmer is ALWAYS looking for the straight left hand. He doesn't jab consistently. He's quite cagey and does not have a high output. On the other hand, he is far cagier than guys like Karo Murat. He reminds me of Ruslan Chagaev but seemingly with the power to end the fight if Cleverly does something stupid.
