    He's the best.:good

I hope Old Fogster comes out of his Marciano shell though, because there have been a lot of Marciano detractors lately. I think the Fogster got so sick of them, he doesn't feel they warrant a response anymore.

    Mcvey,

You don't need to justify yourself to a wannabe elitist. You are a well liked and respected poster here. Hopefully the smug we call "HEGrant" will take a hike, and we will never have to hear from him again.

Then stop antagonizing me you obsessed flyweight. You take every opportunity to start **** and cry like a little ***** when I respond. I have zero interest in you. I simply respond after every fourth or fifth poke I recieve.

    1. Yes, I believe it was for charity

    2. If im not mistaken, didn't the crowd Boo when Dempsey refused to fight Jeanette instead? It appeared the public was not sympathetic with Dempsey's actions.

    3. I am not an admirer of Dempsey because he refused to fight the two best heavyweight contenders on film, and because he drew the color line. I do admire Jack Dempsey the person, the way he fought his way up the ladder early in his career. From a Hobo to a Champ. I also admire his talent level on film, there is no denying he is an ATG in that regard. I love watching him take apart contenders on film. It's hard to be tolerant of someone who had such great talent, but squandered it by accomplishing far less than he could have.

In all fairness to Dempsey,he was a product of his times,as far as giving a title shot to a black man went. For the day,I do n't doubt that Dempsey had liberal views about race, especially in light of the facts you've given us.

No one is saying Dempsey was scared of Wills .. Dempsey was a real bad ass and in his prime would have fought anyone if it were solely up to him... the issue being debated is that he did not fight his top contender, a man who fought and defeated better men than Dempsey himself ever fought, and how this impacts his legacy.

Love the fact that you and I can fundamentally disagree on fighters ,yet remain civil, and cordial .I will get back to your questions on the cream of the 50's Heavies ASP. Today I have been in London listening to jazz ,so drink has been taken ,and I would not give the subject the attention it deserves.:good

HE Grant makes some valid points but lost his credibility with me, when he came over all precious and indignant,it oozed phoneyness, and he denied posting remarks that I damn well knew he had, Best ignored.

Was "your not intelligent. You a terrible bore. You need to get help." not good enough for you?:lol::roll::roll:

Let me ask you a few questions Mr. Elitist

    1. What college did you get your degree from?

    2. Why do you continue to call yourself a historian/film maker, when it's obvious you aren't one?

I have a bachelors degree in history, and I am currently going to school for my Masters. I know plenty of historians, and you couldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole. You may have the writing skills, but you have zero common sense, an inability to uncover enlightening information, and horrible people skills. Good luck in life buddy. It's probably already too late for you.
