Dempsey hadn't ate in three days. Also, I vaguely remember a rematch. Enlighten me, who won, and in what round? :think

Yes, definitely big ups for Dempsey being one of the 26 guys to KO Flynn... 5 of whom had ZERO wins on their resume.

But Dempsey didn't ate. So if he did ate, he would've ate Flynn. You gotta ate to bate the almighty Flynn.

The night before the Flynn fight Dempsey also had to unload a few truckloads of bricks, while being whipped every time he took even a few seconds to rest. He also wasn't allowed to sleep the whole week before that fight.

I was referring to the Spinks-Tyson part. I never said that.

Your just in denial. Every sport, every art evolves. Dempsey has no defense for what Tyson brings to the table offensively

I went for live underdog. Tyson at his best was a machine.

So by that logic Tyson Fury beats Muhammad Ali? Boxing must have evolved since 1966.

Dempsey was way ahead of his time. He understood what to do and how to do it very well. If you read his book it is basically a textbook for packing dynamite into your gloves.

However, in quite a few matches he seems to toss out what he knows and tries to brutally overcome the opposition, for example with Firpo. Doing that with Tyson - prime, peekaboo sharp Tyson - is going to end up badly. If he uses his noggin and speed, counterpunches and boxes smart he could well do it. Tyson would not enjoy getting hit by Dempsey.

I think Dempsey takes it on the inside and kos Tyson anywhere from one to three imo
