They both have different types of power, Wilder generates his power via leverage of his long limbs his power is at the end of his shots and the draw backs to that is that he opens him self up and gets pretty "wild" to do so, Tyson was just an animal that could generate huge power from very short punches with little leverage. I would say being on the end of a huge long winging shot from wilder would be similar to the power of one of tysons short devastating punches. The advantage to tysons punches were that he was able to generate power very efficiently with little leverage, and could generate the power up close and thus very little telegraphing of the punches which adds to the devastation because its the ones you don't see coming that are the worst.

So AJ fights Klitschko and you think he's trying to fight bums, Wilder fights Stiverne for a 2nd time and you think he's the one that wants challenges, then you inexplicably bring race into the equation. All in all a classic BlizzyBlizz post.

deontays best KO was in a rematch against a rastafarian, he already beat in a 12 round UD.

Tyson has knocked out Hall of Famers like Holmes and Spinks.

Its like comparing a seiko quartz watch worth 50 USD to an automatic patek phillipe worth 50,000 USD

He hits damn hard but i dont think its as hard as Tyson but he hits hard enough to put any man on the floor. The bigger question is has he got the technique to land those power shots nice and flush against the better Boxers who defend and fight better and are also a serious offensive threat themselves.

Peole do underestimate his offence though because of all the windmilling and falling over and stuff. But he has skills. That Szpikla KO is such a beautiful finish.

No. Tyson is leagues better than Wilder in every respect regarding punching power. He's quicker, more explosive, more accurate, gets more of his body into shots through perfect technique, and has more raw power as well. A fighter like Szpilka wouldn't have lasted more than a round or two against Tyson. You only have to look at the Etienne fight for proof of that.

Wilder needs to wind up like crazy to deliver his best shots. If he can't do that his power rapidly drops off.

Wilder's straight right is more powerful than any of Tyson's punches, that's a fact!

Different types of power. Wilder is a Hearns type puncher long snaking shots Tyson threw short punches using leverage .Tyson is a more complete fighter obviously but they both hit very hard .Anyone wilder can hit is in trouble.

Hard to say for sure, we don't really know how hard Wilder hits as his power hasn't ever really been tested at the top level. Wilder clearly hits hard but to say he hits as hard as Tyson he'll need to have that power tested against someone durable like when Tyson KO'ed Holmes.

So at the moment I'd say Tyson is the more proven power puncher.

Tyson had probably a little more raw power (built like a tank/brick shithouse as opposed to something a farm boy grew from a magic bean in a fairytale) but a LOT more punching technique.

It's not really a direct comparison here:

Wilders best punch, by far, is his straight right cross. He throws it while hurling his entire body behind it - which is technically not recommended as it leaves him vulnerable against someone with good timing or counter punching ability, but it certainly gets the job done with all that momentum behind it.

Tysons best punch was his hooks, which generally generate significantly more power and torque than a straight punch. Anyone who has ever tried those punching machines in arcades even can attest to that.

So my guess would be Tyson's sunday hook would be more devastating than Wilder's full body right cross, just due to physics. But that's just my theory. I'm sure that Wilder's cross generates more force than Tyson's straight right - but just due to the nature of each mans favoured power shot I would go for Tyson every time.
