Haney looks like a hypejob, can he really trouble a fantastic fighter like Loma?

Haney has good skills and boxing IQ, good speed and big size for this weight division. Plus his style isn't that easy for Loma. I'd favor Loma to beat Haney in the next 1.5-2 years, but if they'll meet later I might favor Haney

He would give Loma trouble based on his size and speed alone. It would be like the Campbell fight.

    He has a fantastic chance.

We do have to factor in that Haney didn't hide in the amateurs for 15 years so his technical ability won't be as astute as a result. I mean Haney did what real men do and turned pro once he was a grown ass adult.

But he's bigger, more talented and I expect he'd go one further than Luke Campbell and actually get the nod.

I'm picking him if they fight, his speed and timing will shutdown and expose lomas unorthodox dodging. It won't work here in a similar way it didn't work for Naz against Barrera. Loma is a great fighter already, this just isn't a good fight for him stylistically.

I mean, of course he has a chance.

    Nobody is categorically unbeatable.

Yes, some fighters remain unbeaten, but that doesn't mean they are unbeatable.

The only one who will beat Lomachenko is someone who can do everything he can, technically, but a little better, or can simply overwhelm him and knock his head clean off.

    Obviously, this is self evident.

In summary, I don't think Lomachenko will lose a(nother) fight before he retires; so no, I don't see Haney beating him.

That doesn't mean it won't be a good fight, or that Lomachenko can't be hurt.

I just think, when it comes to it, he'll have enough to beat Haney.

He just might be Lomas worst nightmare.

All those press clippings and newspaper articles and ESPN segments won't mean anything once these 2 get step between the ropes.

While Loma was riding shotgun on the hype train, a 30 year old beating up teenagers at the Golden Gloves tournaments, this kid Hayne was coming up the hard way.
He had to earn his bones the hard way, and the networks still don't want to give him his proper respect!
That kind of path will make a man out of you. Sure, Loma has nice footwork, but he's not going to be there when the going gets tough. I mean just look at the way Salido roughed him up on the inside.

Devin Haney will give Loma his toughest fight to date. Tougher than Salido.

Who wins. I don't know but I want to see that fight in 2020. Loma needs to stop with these Crolla type fights and just get it on.

Haney is a naturally much bigger fighter than Loma, so id give him a chance.

If it doesnt happen very soon, I doubt it happens, as Haney isnt making 135 much longer.

He's too big for Lomachenko. He could possibly stop him, I really cant see Lomachenko's brilliance overcome his lack of size against a young skilled opponent like Haney.

Haney has a better chance than anyone else at lightweight. I’d say his chances are about 40% right now and will only go up as time goes on. And I’m a big Loma fan by the way...he’s my favorite current fighter. But I can just tell that Haney is something special.

At first glance I'd expect him to dodge Loma like they all do...

    However...

    1) Haney is promoted by Hearn not PBC and Hearn is infinitely more motivated in making fights than Haymon ever was for young, prime fighters.
    2) Haney is on record saying that 135lbs cannot last much longer. Not much longer at all. A year tops it sounds like. If they wanna make his biggest money fight to date and a chance at being an overnight superstar should he win the fight.
    3) What the hell does he have to lose?? As long as he can take 4 rds of Loma then he can fall back on the excuses of inexperience, weight struggles, "this will make me better in the future", bla bla bla. Losing at 23yrs old to the best fighter alive did not hurt Canelo one iota long-term.

I think this fight could really happen after Loma takes out the Comney/Lopez winner.

How does the fight actually go? Loma wins 9 rounds. Judges go 115-13 across the board however for a Loma UD.
