(LW Duran) Pacquiao: Yes Marquez: Yes Pernell Whitaker: Probably not. Shane Mosley: Yes (Montreal Duran) Oscar De La Hoya: Probably Tito Trinidad: Yes Floyd mayweather: Probably (Benitez Duran) Fernando Vargas: Yes Winky Wright: No (Hagler Duran) Kelly Pavlik: No GGG: No
He has to get through Pacquiao Marquez Pernell Whitaker and Shane Mosley as LW title defenses(average form in his later years as LW champ) He beats them all. If Whitaker possessed more offense he may have been able to pull off the upset. Then Oscar De La Hoya, Tito Trinidad and Floyd Mayweather (1979-1980 WW version) - He beats De La Hoya who, like Roberto, was a blown up lightweight. He could beat a younger Tito and I would call he and Floyd a 50/50 proposition. Fernando Vargas and Winky Wright at JMW(1983 version) He beats Vargas and struggles to a win over Wright Kelly Pavlik and 2018 GGG (Hagler version) He beats Pavlik and loses to Golovkin. He was great against Hagler but I believe that has as much to do with Marvin's caution as it does with Duran's abilities. Duran was never a great middleweight.
Trinidad would beat Duran’s ass, Duran struggled badly against Puerto Ricans and Trinidad would be the best one that he fought.
Pretty good match ups ... Paq yes, Whitaker maybe, Mosley yes but very tough Oscar yes, Tito yes, Floyd yes/ maybe Vargas yes, Wright no Pavlov, Yes .. This only applies to the best Duran that fought Palomino and Leonard 1 ..anything less loses to many more ..
