Agree it was a very close fight, Morales had the offensive tactics down right and the toughness to execute them, but his **** defence was also consistently getting him hit.

Obviously considering overall context it was a great win for Erik nonetheless though. But i think a lot of people got carried away with that(in the sense Manny was clear favourite) and made it out to be some masterclass or showing of all-time proportions and it wasn't really on that sort of level as a fight imo.A sloppy bout where both showed almost as much weakness as strengths(though Morales' were well enough known by this point anyway)

Do you really need to be technical if you have the athleticism of Pacquiao? Just about everybody he's ever faced never had the toughness or chin to deal with his power and speed. Then came Morales with his steel chin.

His steel chin held up in the first fight cause he made Pacquiao wear those pillow gloves that morales loved to use and he still got rocked in the last round a couple of times. In the rematch Pacquiao was allowed to wear reys gloves instead of pillows and we know what happened.

Anyway to answer the thread question forget about morales having a strong case, Morales has no case for being the best fighter of his generation no case at all.

In the last round Morales turned southpaw and dared Pacquiao to knock him out. Manny leveled him and all Morales did was look at him.
