Does Evander Deserve another SHOT?

No, he doesn't deserve a shot. He should retire. That said, come fight night I'll still root for him.

 

Evander does not deserve a shot at this current point in time, in the HW division.

He has not lost enough previous bids for a title recently to qualify...:yep

Well, I'm thinking about losses in attempts to win a title...

Golota has 4 losses as said.

Jameel McCline has 4 - Wladimir (WBO), Byrd (IBF), Valuev (WBA) and Peter (WBC).

Holyfield has 4, arguably it should be 5, but at least he also has 4 (arguably 5) wins that neither Golota or McCline managed.

Frank Bruno lost 4 but won 1 (against McCall).

Rahman beat Lewis, lost to Ruiz, beat Barrett. He's 2-1 in fights to win a title.

Must be some others. Ruiz has lost a couple, Holyfield I and Valuev II.

Jersey Joe Walcott lost about 4 or 5 didn't he? Louis I & II, Charles I & II, Marciano II.

 

The only "intriguing" part about it, is how much brain damage he'll add to his already impressive amount. :-(

When he retired for a year because a shoulder injury in 2003, you could hear his speech become clear again. He should read the writing on the wall.

 

Holyfield is 4-4 in his last 8 fights over the last six years. At 46, I hope he doesn't get hurt.

 

Wonder why he wouldn't consider rematching James Toney?

You'd have to think it would be a way to actually earn a title shot rather than rely on gifts, and a chance to avenge a defeat. Toney seems worse these days than he was in 2003.

 

He needs to be forced into retirement for his own health. The man was THE MAN, 15 years ago. Now he is too punchdrunk to see how bad he fights.
