Montiel is also a very strong fighter with good handspeed and is very well schooled in his boxing.

I had thought that Vic's downfall would be against a natural counterpuncher like Mijarez but he paid the price with his inability to adapt.

Now Arce has proven that you also need good boxing skills aside from power to have a better shot a beating Darchynian.

Can Montiel take down the Raging Bull?

I believe he has the best chance of them all as Donaire is still lurking in the shadows.

    What do you people think?

He has a shot b/c he has the punches and the technique to catch Vic. But this is not the Donaire lunging Vic. He only did it like 3 times this fight b/c he realized Arce cant counterpunch. I favor my dude Vic though.

Montiel is one sharp-punching dude..with power...would be an interesting fight.

nope..vic is just too powerful. You need to be confident against him, and you need to time his awkward style. Montiel's chin will not hold against Vics powershot.

Montiel, unlike Arce, is more defense oriented, which made him a bit boring in the past but has become more aggressive to appeal to the fans. Because of this he is very sharp with his punches and if he gets in trouble he goes back into a defensive mode to counterpunch with big shots.

Mijarez lacked the power and Arce lacked the skill. Montiel is the complete package. He has a very good chance at beating Vic.

Probably. Although Vic is a better fighter from he first fought Donaire I think Montiel would be favorite in this fight.

Its a shame Montiel is having trouble making 115 lbs. He would probably be Darchynian's next opponent.

You don't think too highly of Montiel? He went up to bantam and almost beat Johnny Gonzales. He has a very good resume and vic isn't unbeatable.

vic is the favorite in this fight. the common denominator between the two is gorres. vic was robbed against gorres (ruled a draw), while gorres was robbed against montiel (according to some).

Na. I didn't see the Vic fight but Montiel was on the verge of knocking out Gorres when Gorrez started to hold on to dear life when Montiel body work finally got to Gorres. Gorres was done and was lucky he didn't get DQ'ed for all the holding he was doing to prevent from getting KO'ed. Montiel has a dam good resume and I would consider him the favorite over Vic.:deal

Who the hell would want to fight a pinoy in the Philippines? They are the scummiest most corrupt people on earth and you are bound to get robbed of a decision there.

Montiel has better options than donaire and donaires only claim to fame is that he beat Vic.Apart from that hes has done nothing, lets see him beat afew more up and comers before he gets another title shot.

And on Montiel vs Darchinyan,i think that would be a good fight with both fighters being open to big shots.Vic maybe be a abit tougher than Montiel and out last him.
