This has always intrigued me growing up in 3rd world countries is not easy the ghettos in America are like paradise compared to some 3rd world countries

My point is that of course I cant say every fighter that has grown up in 3rd world country is tough but nearly all of them have this tough trait and hard working attitude never say die attitude like they faced the worst so fighting in a boxing room is nothing.

I really feel its helps them tremendously in boxing

If you as a child see peoples head cut of infront of you and and face hunger everyday living in a lawless place going into a boxing ring is nothing.

Pacquaio is a very good example never seen anyone as tough as him mentally in the ring

Ricky said after he got knocked out he was scared to enter a gym

Pacquaio straight after brushes it of as nothing and enters the ring not many would come back after that knockout

I can't think of any other fighter that fans claimed as a great get knocked out so badly and beaten convincingly (the fight before the ko) and done in by a smaller fighter that no one claims an atg.

Jmm is only a Mexican atg, not a real atg, and he made pac his baby a few times. Crazy, it really should be 2/1/1 in the favor of jmm

    Alexis Arguello is another one.

Coming from this list of "developing countries", there's also off the top of my head Azumah Nelson, Eusebio Pedroza.

    http://www.iugg2015prague.com/list-of-developing-countries.htm

I don't know how poor these other fighters came up, I just know Arguello grew up in dire poverty.

It may help to have that "desperation" as motivation, but most of the top fighters don't come from EXTREME, developing-country poverty. The only common thing is that most great fighters don't come from wealthy backgrounds. When they do, it's rare. Most of them are poor or working, lower-middle class.

It really has to do with athleticism, proper training forums, and mental fortitude more than poverty.

Growing up and surviving in a 3rd world country has certainly helped Bernard Hopkins, Floyd Mayweather and Deontay Wilder, but has not been kind to Kelly Pavlik and Roy Jones. Roy Jones actually was forced to migrate to another 3rd world country to survive and Pavlik is currently serving time in prison, a political prisoner.

The best fighters come from wealthy backgrounds and attended boarding schools. Nothing will train a young boy how to become a strong man and instill discipline in them like attending a boarding school will. Pupils schooled at boarding schools are the modern day equivalent, or the closest possible thing to, Spartan men.

Well you have to have a blend of both.

Growing up hard can make you determined, hard etc

But if you don't have good training, then its going to be tough

I would say it probably doesn't. Have you ever noticed that the ATG's from 3rd world countries are always loaded with incredible attributes? Notice the speed and the stamina and power of ATG's from 3rd world countries. It's almost always exceptional. That's because they don't receive the same high level technical training in ****py gyms.

But at the same time the reason why America is losing it's grip on boxing though is the softness of the nation. Too much softness is going on. Too many young men are fat and lazy. And the amazing thing is they have no shame in that.
