Me neither,I’ve never got the hate personally,probably cause I’ve never expected anything other than his money persona which is very shallow but I love listening to him talk about boxing as he’s undoubtedly a boxing genius and yes he’s an all time great for sure.

Even with how shitty the last half of his career was he's got a better record than all but about fifteen fighters. If you are really sold on the old guys who don't have footage you might push him back to the mid-twenties area. But there is no denying his greatness. Opportunities were there for him to make a case for #1 but he never took them, and he'll go down as the second best fighter of the 2000s but top 2 of a decade is still pretty great. When you look at the top 2 of each decade it's some really rare company Robinson, Moore, Charles, Ali, Jofre, Jones Jr, Whitaker, Duran, Monzon, Greb, Armstrong, Leonard, Leonard, Louis, Hagler. He deserves to be in their company.

No, Floyd is not an ATG for the same reasons I said Manny and RJJ aren’t either. Modern boxing no longer has same day weigh ins, 12 round championship fights instead of 15 and multiple belts in more weight classes. A lot of the old greats had twice as many knockouts as modern guys have total fights. In Floyd’s case, as well as Manny, RJJ and others, have too many legitimate PED accusations against them. Floyd is also known just as much for ducking as he is for his boxing brilliance. It was said of Floyd that he ducked so many top opponents that every time he opened his mouth we expected to hear him quack. Not only that, but for all of his ultra cool “Money” persona, both Brian Kenny and Larry a Merchant almost made him cry. Can you imagine little old Larry Merchant saying to any other ATG in history, “If I was 50 years younger I’d kick your ass!”? ...or needing to? That was classic. Floyd’s also a stutterer- that’s an immediate disqualification from ATG status.
Floyd is a modern day great fighter who is a worthy first ballot hall of famer, to be sure. But no, he’s not an ATG.
