Really? Care to elaborate on who Floyd fought that is so similar to Duran's that he's USED to it already?

You fools do realize that Floyd is 35! Right? And his walk around weight is 150. Duran is an Ez fight for Floyd. At 135-154. But you must realize at 35 Srl was a full middle weight. Tommy hearns fought at hw.That's like asking would Srl beat Roy Jones. The truth is Floyd should not even be at Ww let alone a sww. And definitely not mw. Nobody boxing today could beat 35 year old mayweather from 140 to 154. That's Atg speacial. But people' hate force them to create impossible matchups. Just like the martinez fight.

What up with people thinking is a solid arguement by saying wtf FLoyd has fought that is like SRL or Duran. THere is two sides of the coin here ya know, just flip it around and reverse the name.

Duran's doesn't have a very unique style. He likes to pressure, he doesn't mind brawling, can box decently, tough, durable. Yes he does those areas better than most people on that style but again on the other side of the coin is who the hell did duran fought that is comparable to Jr's style. and SRL is not Jr's style.

Leonard has faster combination punches. In terms of single shot speed you could argue that they're around equal, but Floyd doesn't have any significant advantage here. Leonard has quicker feet, something that is visible even when he is past his prime, fighting Hagler. Leonard has more power in both hands, and a more varied offence. He is better at switching his attacks up between body and head. Mayweather does have the better defence and counter punching, but Leonard's workrate, speed, stamina and ability to throw combinations can overwhelm that defence, particularly if Mayweather tries to lay on the ropes and roll shots. Leonard also had a good, consistent jab, which would be particularly effective at penetrating the shoulder-roll and setting up powerful right hands.

We've seen Leonard deal with a defensive master in the form of Benitez on the outside, and we've seen him fight competitively on the inside against a legend like Duran. Regardless of whether Floyd wants to fight on the outside or inside, Leonard would be ready for him. If Floyd tries to back off and fight very defensively, he could frustrate Leonard, but he would start to lose on points due to Leonard's workrate. If he gets more aggressive, he'll get caught in an exchange and hurt. Floyd doesn't have the power to hurt Leonard, but Leonard has the power to hurt Floyd. When Floyd 'turns into a dragon', as Nazim put it, it won't deter a fighter who has beaten Hearns, Duran and Hagler. Leonard would in fact welcome a more aggressive Floyd, as it would give him more chances to land his own shots.

Been saying this for months. They are all a couple of sizes bigger than Floyd. They should specify which weight class. SRL wasn't effective at middleweight, and neither did Duran. Just like FLoyd is not as effective at 147 and up bc he is carrying the weight. A lot of people keep judging floyd at those weights though.

Let me just cross out Foot speed bc there is no way in hell SRL was quicker prime for prime. SRL out sped Hagler a middle weight doesn't translate faster, it is what he suppose to. Power definitely goes to SRL.
I think a lot of people are stuck at FLoyd style at 147+ where he is not nearly as good as he was at 140 and down, not even close. Floyd was a boxer puncher in lower weight classes that throws every type of shots and combos and he shoots more creative punches in fast speed than a string of shoe shines while their opponents covers up. Single shots go to Floyd prolly as high as 3 punch combos. Anything more than 3 or 4 hits is asking for getting countered.

We saw SRL got his ass kicked by Duran on the inside not "deal with". SRL boxed Duran on the outside to win that fight. Floyd displayed a lot more inside game than SRL. I'm not sure if SRL can deal with Floyd feints on the outside either.

    Both beat Floyd.

Duran was not slow , I cannot believe the people on here. This man at lightweight vs the Floyd that fought Castillo 1 and 2 is in for a tough night.

SRL - beat a bigger and better version of Floyd already.

Love floyd and is probably the best Super Feather i have seen , but this is just another level.

Name me a fight where Mayweather displays quicker feet than Leonard. I'm a fan of Mayweather, and I've never seen that at all. (I think his most impressive display of footwork was the Corrales match, but that was more about technique than speed.)

I don't think Leonard got his 'ass kicked' by Duran. It was a competitive fight. Yes, Duran won, but Leonard wasn't getting dominated, aside from when he got hurt early in the fight. He was able to land some good shots of his own on the inside. If he can be competitive on the inside against Duran, Floyd isn't going to threaten him at that range.

I don't think Floyd would even try to infight against Leonard -- he would keep the fight on the outside.

:patsch Did you see what I was quoting and WHY I asked that? Obviously not. Your boy said Floyd is used to fighting guys like Duran, hence my question.

Another example of wacky logic. Castillo 1 where floyd is injured and Castillo 2 where he won comforably. I guess i should bring up that Duran got dropped and beaten by 5'6 De Jesus at 135.

How is that Wacky Logic , Floyd had four fights at lightweight and those others were against Sosa and Ndou. Castillo is not Duran by any means , but is the closest Floyd fought at lightweight.

Also do me a favour , Duran was in his 63rd fight . 62 - 0 better record than Floyd could ever have! Also how did that rematch go?

Most of the fights that Floyd fight in 140 and down he displayed superior foot speed. They both just similar lateral movements but the difference is Floyd's ability to leap at you and hit you and jump away and escape before his opponents even thought about retailating. He haven't display that much at 147 and up nor in that speed either.

I don't think SRL or Floyd will KO each other if the fight is at 140 and down due to their styles it will come down to Floyd's cleaner punches and ring generalship to the volume of SRL's offense and showmanship.

Down at the lower weights, Floyd vs. Duran is a barnburner. I am old enough that I saw the end of Duran's prime. Duran would eat some shots on his way in, but would cut down the ring and bang Floyd pretty consistently. Close, controversial decision in this one.

SRL is too multifaceted to try and predict how a fight between him and Mayweather would go. In fact, they could probably fight 10 different times and have the fight play out 10 different ways. End of the day, I think SRL takes 9 or 10 of them.
