It will not. Right now, he could win.

Well, it doesn't necessarily have to end in a KO against Mayweather ever time.
Benitez went to a decision with Hearns.
If Mayweather can survive a 6 round onslaught from Hearns, Mayweather could eventually start to pick apart a slightly gassed Hearns..but even then, the fight will end in a 7-5 or 8-4 for Hearns lol

I know he shouldn't fight in that philly shell against Hearns. Trying to jab from so low against someone with hands as quick and heavy as Tommy would be a nightmare. I'd say Hearns UD, Floyd's got more than enough skills to stay on his feat and give a good performance.

Mayweather is an elite fighter no matter what you think of him. He would be competitive with any welterweight in any era and stand a good chance to win.

Hearns is a horrific matchup for Floyd.

At best, Floyd loses a wide decision with Tommy jabbing his head off.

If old Mosley can land right hands what will Hearns do? He won't fade quickly after bolting his load, and is more diverse, rangier, smarter than Mosley. He has nothing to worry about coming back, Floyd doesn't have the power to hurt Tommy, sting him maybe, but Floyd won't be getting much going anyway. Floyd isn't winning back-pedalling and pot shotting and he isn't out generaling and counter punching Hearns.

Floyd doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt in this matchup. This is just a bad matchup for him, it happens.

Why does he stand a stand a chance to beat everyone when many great welterweights have been posed with a puzzle they cannot solve?

No he does not... For many reasons. First, hearns freakish size at welter, combined with speed and devaststing power, do not bode well for Floyd. But, perhaps the main reason is the atitude that Hearns would bring to a fight of this magnitude. He would own Floyd at the signing, Floyd likes to `front` that he`s all `that`. But, against Hearns, he would be completely intimidated right off the bat. he would NEVER get in Hearns face during the buildup. Hearns would have a major edge in the psyche game and would carry that into the ring. Hearns would have zero respect for Floyd, and if you can`t get Hearns attention or respect,Hearns runs right through you. It`s a horrid matchup for Floyd. And believ me, Hearns if just salivating when he see Floyd go into his defensive shell and look to shoulder with hearns TNT... Old one track Mosley hurts floyd, and Mosley isn`t in any way close to Hearns brand of one punch power. Floyd gets stopped, early by the 5th rd.

Mayweather is a complete fighter who has faced just about every style. I think over the course of his long career he would have faced someone who had the tools to beat him. Regardless of what you think of his opposition its been top ten contenders and champions and just about all great fighters eventually lose. In my opinion he has not shown a glaring weakness to any particular style of fighting, especially that of Thomas Hearns.

So if Gavilan didn't fight Ray Robinson twice you think he'd have a fair chance at beating him?

    What about Cokes Vs Napoles?

Especially that of Thomas Hearns? He hasn't faced anyone like him.

As you keep saying 'regardless what you think of the opposition' it's clear to see you're trying to make excuses for one of your favourites out of bias and not rational analysis.

When has anyone like Mayweather troubled Hearns? You know that Floyd is nothing like Leonard, Hagler or Barkley don't you?

Floyd is not one of my favorites. I really dont like him at all as a person, but hes a great fighter and technician. Its his particular type of style that makes him such a difficult fighter to face. Your talking about a defensive thinking fighter, thats a whole different animal than some of the offensive fighters you mentioned. That kind of style presents a difficult fight for anyone, not to mention he has a good chin, and can fight a little when he as to.

Hearns doesn't have to do anything but jab to win this fights. He had Leonard fighting uphill all night and Leonard is 2 or 3 inches taller than Mayweather, has a granite chin, and is at least as fast as Mayweather. Floyd has to take all the chances in this fight. He could keep it to a decision if he fights conservatively, otherwise he gets stopped.

Right now I feel Floyd has the tools to beat him by k.o.

The inactivity especially will spell doom for Hearns.
