his father said he does maybe vs spadafora.

theres talk of him fighting in south africa in july

most likely tune-up bout in my mind is khan if he beats bradley.khan is a big name in uk and floyd has said it has always been a dream to fight in uk.

    it had a 21 month lay-off b4 beating marquez. does he need a tune-up?

He is 30+, has had 40+ fights & is a gym rat, always in shape.

    No tune-up required.

too risky. what if he gets injured, hurts his hands, or something like that? Floyd is the kind of fighter that needs a lot of R&R between fights.

Sparring is never really quite the same at shaking off ring rust

Just another excuse to delay the Pac fight. If he takes a tuneup he should be massacred in the media. He said he will only fight once a year anyway, so what the **** use will a tuneup be if he fights Pac in 2012?

If he doesn't fight before November-ish...then yeah, I wouldn't advise him to take on a very active Pacquiao after a year and a half-ish out.

Floyd will need a tune up when he returns to the ring. He didn't fight for more than a year now so he needs to remove his ring rust. The problem is, he fights once a year only. He will end up fighting tune up fights only (to remove ring rust) for the remainder of this fights until he retires.

    +1

emmanuel is already fighting in May, so we know he can't fight as soon as July.

Nothing wrong with a tuneup for FLoyd as long as he doesn't plan to do his once a year **** for 2011.

    Floyd becoming an "international playboy".

    Floyd a G.

So who is he going to get for a tune up that would be close to pac?

Right so Floyd is a gym rat who only manages to fight once a year because of his brittle hands, but people say it'd be beneficial for him to have a fight in the summer in order to prepare for one in November?

Floyd fights one a year for a reason - to suggest he'd be better suddenly trying to fight twice in 6 months is ridiculous to me.

If sparring (boxing, in a ring, against an opponent) is not good for shaking ring rust then surely every fighter must suffer from ring rust. By the time their fight comes around? They have a fight and then don't get back in the ring for another 5-10 months?

How long does ring rust take to occur exactly?

A question for Floyd fans - if you're saying that ring rust is a big deal, and Mayweather will need a tuneup in order not to have ring rust against Manny in a potential November fight, are you acknowledging that Mosley was suffering from ring rust in his fight against Floyd?
