As far as I am concerned Maidana was Khan's Castillo. If he fights him again, he beats him easily. I can't see Floyd fighting Khan, never mind in the UK. The guy has never fought outside the US, and likes all of his home comforts.. I can't believe anybody is taking these rumours about him fighting in South Africa seriously. :rasta
Hahaha nope, but Maidana and Castillo can be compared. Maidana is a very good, tough opponent and I think he will prove that throughout the rest of his career, much like Castillo. Stylistically it was a nightmare fight, again like PBF and JLC. Basically, what I was trying to say is that it is an unfair comment to make as EVERY fighter, elite or not, has a fight like that on their resume. :rasta
Amir should rematch Maidana immediately if he wants Maidana to be his Castillo. Waiting for years before a rematch is what we call an emmanuel. Maidana would end up becoming "Marquez" in this scenario. We all know how it turned out too, the rematch is the fight Marquez arguably won.
golden boy vs top rank and bob arum is planning to make margarito vs cotto 2 in the summer, a fight which I honestly prefer over cotto vs floyd, if cotto beats margarito him vs floyd in november would be nice buts unlikely. Floyd should beat berto and take his belt if he wants a tune up before pac.
Fighting Floyd would be bigger check for Cotto than marg. What does Top Rank have left to offer Cotto besides a rematch with marg?:think
Largely depends on Pac's performance in May. Guarantee you he will call Pac out if he looks ring worn, otherwise Floyd will need a "tune-up" again.
I believe he does. Father time is creeping up there and his inactivity is not helping anything. He hasn't fought in almost a year and fighting the P4P champ, who has stayed active, w/out a tune up can spell disaster.
I never said he wanted him to be, that's just how I see it. Amir has bigger fish to fry, and preparing for a summer showdown with Tim Bradley I don't think many people would advise a rematch with Maidana. Amir proved in the first 4 rounds he was a league above, it's when he ditched the game plan that Maidana got back into the fight. He comprehensively, out-thought, outpunched and outboxed Maidana for the first half of the fight and would have had him out of there in 1 round if the knockdown was 30 seconds earlier. :rasta
Mosley wasn't a tuneup at the time Floyd fought him. He's a tuneup for whoever wants to fight him now.
he definitely needs a tune-up bout. pac is way too dangerous to even risk being rusty. i want to see both of them at their best. no excuses.
