Have you not watched many of their fights? Floyd is THE most talented boxer of this era and one of the top talents in history as far as boxing skill. Roy Jones was extremely gifted athletically and instinctively, but did not so much have great fundamentals.

Jones did have great defense, it just was not textbook and was reliant on extreme reflexes. No one can go an entire round without even a jab landing if their defense was not great.

There's none more astute & $$$ sharp as Floyd hence the retire/un-retire as a way to avoid any possible hick-ups while dining at the HBO $$$$ trough.

Floyd is the most complete all round package i've seen enter the ring since Leonard, he makes it look easy when it ai'nt, he's 1000% dedicated to his trade, self-employment & self advancement.

He has an incredible focus, he trains/fights with the necessary paranoid sub-concious fear of defeat that takes him to that special place once the fight is made & every second/minute is used to focus his mind/body for the coming battle. He knows what you are going to do, he knows what you've got & he knows what he's got that you hav'nt.

But you've proberly spotted what i did, Floyd relies on timing, he's an absolute master at it, but he's slowing a bit & this is one of the reasons that the Mayweather camp will never have Floyd in against Pacquiao who fights unconventional & Roach now tailors Pac's tactics to each specific opponant with regard to best employing pac's waspish speed & power.

What you have now is a new Sugar Ray Leonard in regards to the fact Floyd has now managed to hi-jack boxing with HBO's blessing in regards to cherry picking opponants who'll pose less of a threat to his earning career.

So Floyd will be around for another 3/4 years until he decides to go or HBO **** him off, as he'll never go in with a live challenger now like Pacquiao at his age as it's only natural that his speed & timing will diminish & faster than he realises. He talking now of another year/18 months of semi-retirement but thats proberbly due to the fact that he hopes Pacquiao retires or gets elected then Floyd will be back acting the guv'ner again as he'll be calling the shots with regard to who he fights when & where.

Not good for boxing but good for an ageing slower Floyd.

if the fight wth pac comes off, and he wins in style, he could retire happily never worrying about declination of skills

Nah I take nothing away from Toney but Floyd has the discipline that Toney doesn't have. Floyd's too much of a gymrat to ever ballon up, I don't see it happening:lol:.

I say less. I can see him making 154 again and having a fight or two there before he retires for good.
