The majority are writing Carls chances off against Kessler already, not me though. It's definately going to be a tough fight for Carl, but when you've got Carls fitness, power and chin he can cause anyone (other than track runners) problems in a 12 round fight. I'm hoping for a right ****ing tear-up :toney
Froch was only fighting at domestic level though - and I'd hardly call Magee and Dodson ''nobodies''. Calzaghe (or Warren should I say) passed off a lot of foreign ''domestic level operators'' as world title defences, whilst a lot of the others were those old ''never been stopped, haven't made the weight in ages'' guys or on a run of less than stellar form with a couple of recent stoppage losses. JC was good enough to beat most, if not all, of the elite names in and around the division at the time, but never did, until 2006, which is a shame. I'm not his biggest fan as you might guess, but try to remain objective for the purposes of discussion. Froch isn't beating Kessler though, I don't think.
I think people are seriously under estimating Kesslers intelligence in the ring. I dont think he'll just stand toe to toe and slug it out. Looking fwd to seeing how Kessler deals with the slickness of Ward first and foremost.
Robin Reid, Tony Dodson and Brian Magee were pretty decent. It can be argued that Froch had just as good if not better pre-title fight opponents than Joe C. If you compare Eubank, Sobot and Gimenez to Jean Pascal, Jermaine Taylor and Andre Dirrell, you should get the picture. If Froch is lucky enough to win his next two fights, he will be well up there with Calzaghe, if not even better. Kessler and in particular Abraham look like a very hard challenge. Lets give Froch the benefit of the doubt for now, I think he deserves that. :good
Well if the same threads are brought up time and again and so does using Calzaghe as a stick to bash Froch with I will continue to do so
I find it strange that people would question someone's opponents when he clearly only wants to fight the best. Froch is a breathe of fresh air for his approach. Regardless of what you think of his ability you must respect his willingness to fight anyone.
Obviously not, but he won't be doing 'A Dirrell' either. Lets see what happens when Carl tests Kesslers fitness and chin
No One is possibly harsh. All I meant to say was that both Froch and JC left it late before stepping up to world class.
Froch stepped up and won a title in his 24th fight which I think is pretty reasonable. JC stepped up and won the title in his 23rd fight. Again not unreasonable I would say.
Froch is one of thye easier fights in the Super 6, Abraham, Kessler and Ward are ahead of him talent wise.
