Calzaghe's record is still pretty clear ahead of Froch's right now, IMO.

That's a bit of a shifting of the goal posts. You said he had the best record in boxing. Now you're saying he's had the best run of 8 consecutive fights. The second claim is a stretch but you could make a case for him i guess, the first claim is a joke. Do you stand by the first claim that Froch has the best record of any active fighter?

Calzaghes win over Roy Jones doesnt make the HoF of Calzaghe wins as Calzaghe wins are that good, on the podium i would go for Kessler, Hopkins and Lacy.

Kessler was prime and undefeated, a worse version of Kessler coming off a loss beat Froch years later.

Hopkins was in the middle of the best run of his career, Tarver win, Winky Wright win, Calzaghe loss, Pavlik win, Ornelas win, Roy Jones win, Pascal draw, Pascal win.

Lacy was being called the new Mike Tyson and was an unbeaten paper champion that Calzaghe ruined both mentally and physically although Lacy did win his next 3 fights, i think the Lacy win for Calzaghe and the Bute win for Froch will turnout to be very similar.

Joe put on an exhibition v an unbeaten fighter who could supposedly box and bang Carl smashed up a fella already beaten by Andrade IMO , my point being the more impressive win was Calzaghes because this guy was supposed to be the real deal where as Bute already had a huge question mark hanging over him regarding his chin. , take nowt away from Froch though he and Rob knew just how to beat Bute and Carl executed their plan to perfection.

At the end of the day when judging or comparing fighters records you should just ask yourself "which career boxset would I watch?", in my case it wouldn't be Calzaghes

I'm butting in here but your original claim was that Froch has the best resume in the world.

Pascal, Taylor, Abraham, Dirrell, Bute are good wins but

Barrera, Morales, Marquez, De la Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Margarito, Clottey, Mosley is a better resume. That's just one example, there are other fighters too, with better records.

Let's be honest, the reason everyone fought Lacy was going to destroy Calzaghe was because Calzaghe had fought no one, was protected, seemingly past his best, overrated and couldn't punch for ****.

    Turns out Lacy was crap.

Still Calzaghe I think, but Carl keeps getting closer with each win.

IMO Joe has the two best single wins out of the two fighter's records (Kessler and Hopkins), but Froch's best wins then take up the majority of the places after the top 2. I think that Joe still has enough half-decent wins outside of the top 2 to keep him ahead at this point though.

In a H-2-H sense I believe Joe beats Carl pretty easily in their respective primes.

I reckon its pretty even, although IMO Froch has more world level fighter's / fights on his record, Im a fan of both but can see Froch being remembered more than Calzaghe, perhaps more based on his attiude and willingness to put it on the line all the time!
