I am a fan of The Cobra, and dislike Wards cringworthy "Son of God"-nick, not to mention his elbows, headbutts, holding and hitting during breaks.

But there is no way I see Froch winning this one. His punches has a tendency to be wide, especially the hooks, and he really aint that fast. No way that will work against Wards fast and precise work. Froch makes good work of angles, so probably he will sneak some decent shots in, but I doubt it will be sufficient. Cant see a KO either. If Ward gets tagged he aint gonna be there for the fallow up, he will push in with his shoulder or just hold.

Ward by wide UD. Carl frustrated, probably marked up by headbutts and punches. Parading americans here on ESB, sour Europeans making "Who won the event?"-threads.

    Anyone see it differently? :think

Of course, he is not expected to win but he has a chance for sure.

I see Ward win this one but I wouldn't go as far as saying Froch don't stand a chance. He stands a good chance actually.

At 1st I thought it could go either way now I'm giving Froch less of a chance. Ward's definitely my favourite but I still think Froch has a decent shot. He's rangier, stronger & has a better chin imo. I don't think Froch will let Ward use rough-house tactics too much. Ward's best on the inside so if Froch can keep him at range his job will be easier. Ward's punches won't have the same effect as Froch's. Also Froch is deceptively awkward which could make it hard for Ward.

Ward is favourite, Froch is a VERY live underdog.

This shouldn't be close. Froch is far slower, outclassed technically, and he sucks on the inside which is one of Ward's best points.

With that being said, he has a decent chance because he's tough as nails, hits pretty hard, and Ward has a shaky Chin.

Of course he does. Did you not read the article on the main page "I'm going to connect with a hurtful shot on the jaw section of the cranium and do some serious damage.?

    How can you doubt him?

Froch loses almost every fight on paper but in the ring it's a different story.

Now, I consider Ward the favourite but Froch has a good chance. His awkward style blinds people to the fact he can be very effective against a variety of styles. He's not very aesthetically-pleasing but his jab, sneaky right-hand and counter-punching can give Ward a lot of problems.

The more time Ward spends on the inside, the better he'll do but I think he'll find out that's easier said than done against Froch.

    Tough fight for both guys.

If he uses his long left jab, and counters with a left hook to the body when Ward comes inside, or throws his long right uppercut when Ward backs off - smothering his work if it misses, not allowing Ward to work inside. Then yes.

Whenever he's tagged, Froch punches right back with combinations. His chin is underrated. He's very strong.

His power is also underrated these days...

It would be utterly cool if he could pull it off.

I don't especially like his chances. Ward just seems too complete.

Definitely he has alot of heart and despite being on the verge of losing to Taylor he never gave up. Hes improved and does whatever it takes to win. Ward is a phenom, but guys like Froch should never be counted out. An upset wouldnt surprise me.

Definitely would be.Its going to be interesting to see how Froch deals with Wards dirty tactics he doesn't seem the kind of guy that would take it like Kessler did and not respond in kind.
