Both are ahead of Fury. Nortons win over Ali was a great win, Bowes wins over Holyfield in their trilogy were also better.
Holmes won a legitimate close decision over Norton he didn't get shafted. Norton was also lucky to even be in that position, when he himself got the benefit of the doubt, in a controversial decision over Jimmy Young prior to Holmes fight.
And Riddick Bowe's greatness is built on one fight vs Holyfield, outside of that his career is forgettable. And he avoided pretty much all the dangerous contenders/champions of that era.
Norton yes, Bowe harder to say. I tend to class Fury as being at the Bowe/Vitali level of greatness right now.
Yes but then he did nothing of note after that, outside of Holyfield fights he fought none of the recognized Heavyweights of 90s.
Fury may well be the better fighter but his resume does not have a win as good as either Bowe or Norton
Bert Cooper, Pinklon Thomas, Tony Tubbs, Bruce Seldon, Pierre Coetzer, Micheal Dokes, Larry Donald, Herbie Hide. That absolutely demolishes Fury's secondary wins. Tyrell Biggs is even better than Chisora and Whyte.
Well i would argue Coetzer, Cooper, they were mostly just journeyman type fighters. Tubbs, Dokes, Thomas, were ancient and finished when Bowe fought them. Bowe missed out on alot of the top 90s fighters which hurts him IMO.
Dokes, Thomas, and Tubbs were all younger when they fought Bowe than Fury's best wins were when he fought them.
