There's been a lot of comparisons between Gamboa and RJJ. For me, he looks more like prime Tyson. Of course, Gamboa is slicker but the aggressiveness and combinations, along with his head movement is reminiscent of Tyson. Tyson has better one-shot power and is more economical with his shots. Gamboa has better angles and can fight backward and forward. If Gamboa were fighting taller opponents, I'd say he'd look more like Tyson than RJJ.
Well he is one-of-a-kind to me, but certainly comparisons can be made to RJJ or Tyson. All three are freaks of nature :yep
Gamboa will be RJJ mixed with Whitaker mixed with Tyson in 1 years time, so supernatural that I won't be able to watch his fights, as I know the opponents are in for a horrific beatdown. I bet that Gamboa becomes so great defensively, that opponents will go rounds without landing a single punch. All hail King Yuriorkis Gamboa.:good
I doubt they will go whole rounds without landing a punch on him; more like entire fights :bbb And I guess I am pretty primitive because I can't wait to watch him murder people in the ring :good
The comparison that could be made between Tyson and Gamboa is their calmness in the ring while firing lightning-fast, deadly combinations from the first seconds of the first round.
:rofl I can remember you saying (a little while back) that you were thinking of getting off the Gamboa train, as it wasn't as exciting being on one that so many people are aboard. Obviously, he's simply too super-natural for that to matter?
Gamboa is so supernatural, that we need to think of a new term for his supernaturalness, something beyond the phenominal state of supernaturality. I'd just call him him an example of athletic divinity. The divine god-King Yuriorkis Gamboa, a phenom beyond his own years, the progenitor of a new boxing empire under his will and fiery testament. PS - The train just picked up a bunch of doubters on the opposite end because he got KD'd, it's time for hype-master Amsterdam to ridiculously and comedically hype him to gain that extra bit of fandom and attention for him via internet forum.
Gamboa could potentially hit harder as well, Tyson went the distance with the likes of Bonecrusher Smith, whom was looking to survive just like Jimenez was. Get Gamboa in there with Linares or another type of that level and you'll get your first round KO's.
I read the bottom post comparing his power to Tyson, and I seriously laughed out loud. I don't think the PS was needed in this case.
Being compared to the alpha-male Supernatural Joan Guzman is a positive at only 10 fights. In time you will find how Gamboa is a root of all that is good in boxing and in time you will also see that it is your destiny to be an obedient fan of this god-like King future champion.
In all Honesty he reminds me of Meldrick Taylor. The way he moves, the way he keeps his hands low when he's tired ect.. let's hope Gamboa decides to use his God given speed and not slug.
I'm starting to feel a little sorry for Gamboa. I can feel that all this hype is, at some point, gonna lead to me hoping he gets knocked out. And I fear I wont be the only one...
