Does Garcia get any credit if he manages to beat Haney after coming in overweight?

I honestly don't think he has the ability to beat Haney but let's just say he actually pulls it off by some miracle. Would Garcia get any credit at all if he manages to beat Haney?

Yes considering Haney will likely enter the ring a lot heavier than Garcia. Haney is the gronk is actually getting a taste of his own medicine for once.

If Ryan just puts up a good fight like Broner did against Maidana he would get all the credit in the world from me. I just want to see a brawl in boxing for my money. UFC 300 was money well spent for a night of all out brawls and KOs. Boxing better start redeeming itself as a blood sport it used to be.

Haney will probably come in heavier. Also at first I had it as a clear 12-0 fight but they were 3-3 in the amateurs and Haney might not hit hard enough to keep Ryan away. Ryan got up from Tanks counter and he is the hardest hitter around. Ryan has no boxing skill but is fast and has power. Doubt Haney’s chin is a problem at 140 but it might be more interesting than I thought at first.

Freakin' idiot. The guy gets an undeserved chance to win a world title belt and can't handle his professional responsibilities. Here's to hoping Haney destroys him.

In answer to the thread question. Haney's title is still at stake so Devin should be giving it his best effort. Yes, Garcia would get credit for beating Haney.

Yes, he'd get respect. But if Haney loses, well, that is a black stain his record. To lose to a mentally challenged, unprofessional nut job who everyone believes has way less boxing ability....that would be a huge blow to his legacy. And would make Allah unhappy as well.

So it would be worse for Haney to lose than it would be better for Garcia to win. Got me?

For sure. Haney will be near 160 for the fight so Ryan coming in a bit heavy is not a big deal.

I can't see Garcia winning the fight without Marlon Brando’s eyes, if he does I'll be really happy for the kid.

He's clearly not right, a tad touched in the head, a loose cannon, anything could happen.

Except he didn't meet the weight required at the official weigh in!!! Lack of professionalism imo

Some of Garcia's recent conduct has been idiotic but that is no reason to wish permanent damage on a fighter; there are plenty of fighters I hate but I would never wish ill upon them in terms of their health.
