Does Garcia get any credit if he manages to beat Haney after coming in overweight?

How the hell does the winner not get credit when the two guy agreed to the fight. Haney could have walked away, he didn't.

If he wins, which he won't, he'd get credit.

Haney is turning into Andre Ward 2.0. Over rated American gifted decisions, never fights on away turf. Looked after by the promoters because they think he'll be a big star but never becomes one.

Crawford would do him in 6. He'll still beat this version of Ryan Garcia but he might have a few scares.

Yes, Haney is far bigger than a 140 fighter, only advantage Garcia will have is Haney being drained.

Don’t think that is a fair assessment at all.

Broner against Maidana? Weird fight pick. Maidana wooped him.

I would give him full credit for being unprofessional.

    Nothing more.

This is strictly a ‘handle your business’ situation and he didn’t handle his. Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time and don’t sign to make a weight you can’t (or won’t be disciplined enough to) make.

as I said on X yesterday; I think the Haney beats the best version of Garcia

So if Garcia gives a decent show or even wins; ofc he gets props

in my eyes Garcia could EASILY have made weight

& if his antics are NOT nervous breakdown related...

...then he's playing the zoomer attention game with the weird comments, deliberately missing weight for headlines; chugging apple juice from a beer bottle. . . he's rarely been outside the X/Twitter trending topics for a few months now - there are MILLIONS of eyes on Ryan Garcia that weren't before these past months and a good few of them will buy the PPV too

Well I’ll be… he actually won.

Looks like he’ll be getting full credit.

We can only go with what the rules are....and we all know what that means....meet weight on a certain day before the fight. In most circumstances there is NO rules on what happens AFTER the official weigh in and when the action starts....maybe that is an area that needs tightened up by the relevant authorities to avoid these fighters who can pile on 20 pounds in 48 hours doing so. Weigh ins were moved away from the day of the fight for a very good reason...so perhaps it's only a job half done??
I see the weight bully didn't win....so whatever 'advantage' he seemingly had through dehydrating didn't help him much
