Does GGG get a lot of credit if he manages to beat Canelo?

I would rather see GGG defeat Canelo and take all his belts.

Considering - IMNSHO - he already beat Canelo twice, if GGG were to prevail I think he would get enormous credit - more than even Pac got beating Thurman.

Sure Canelo lost to Bivol, but that was @175 NOT 168.

For GGG to rip the undisputed title from Canelo in his first defence @40 years old would be a tremendous achievement, especially considering he is the huge underdog here.

On the flipside, it would probably be an unmitigated disaster for Canelo - which is why short of GGG scoring a lights out Marquez-Pac KO, I think Canelo wins this. I can't see GGG getting ANY change on a decision

Absolutely correct , no change at all, @ 32 the cash cow has many more years of lining various Las Vegas officials pockets...whereas GGG is a known straight shooter ...

It gives his career the perfect ending imo.

Most people consider him to have beaten Canelo in the first fight anyways.

Despite all the behaviour and breaks Canelo gets he is still a quality fighter. If GGG beats him at 40 years of age that is a massive achievement in my eyes. Especially as he will need to do what others have not done and stop Canelo to do it. To be fair, I would give Canelo credit for a clear win and he has all the advantages.

GGG was a bit past prime when he beat Canelo twice, the judging (Adelaide Byrd et al ) notwithstanding.

It would be amazing if he was still able to beat the Mexican in his mid forties.

He's a 5-1 underdog tonight. He's not supposed to win this fight.

If he beat Canelo, it's be a fairly big upset. It's rank up there with some of the best victories in this decade.

"when he beat Canelo twice" I found that funny in a very ironic way chuchu.

If he were to pull it off again, it would be once for each G.

This is absolutely true. Won't stop dozens of troll posts when the fight is over of course. I don't feel that it will be that one-sided as the odds make it to be as I don't think he has slipped enough for Canelo to have an easy night. He can still change the tides with one single punch and we have already seen 24 rounds of these two so we already know this isn't going to be a one-sided style mismatch or anything.
5-1 underdog suggests a blowout and that seems unlikely to me.

Considering that winning will require GGG to practically KO Canelo, then yeah he'd get a lot of credit because no one has ever managed to do that.
