Does GGG have the fortitude to do what Toney and Jones Jr. did???

  1. A lot of post on this board constantly compare Mayweather to Duran and SRL in terms of moving up to middleweight and SMW. He has already moved up 5 divisions ,naturally and fought the most champions and lineal champions in boxing history.

I challenge anybody to defend GGG resume against the great that have moved up from MW when the best challenges were defeated and dominate weight classes all the way up to Heavyweight like Roy Jones and James Toney did.

He is comfy fighting D level competition and calling out the welter king but afraid that a 154 (LARA) or a great future HOF (WARD) will expose him for what he is, a limited, plodder with power. Don't give me the "small middle weight" excuse.

    James Toney 5'10" 72" reach 160-unlimited fought 6'2" 280 pound Sam Peters 2x.

Roy Jones Jr. 5' 11" 74" reach 154-unlimited fought 6'2" 78"reach John Ruiz. won WBA HW title.

Gennady Golovkin 5'10 1/2 70" reach still executing ESPN Boxcino champions every 4 months.

Does he have the testicular fortitude to move up?

Wrong style to do anything at heavyweight, how many times does this have to be said.

Modern testing probably prevents that from happening

Does Ward have the B@LLS to fight at the weight he did as a child???:think

  8. He is having a fight at 172 this weekend. I'd say he is on his way.

Modern testing is what made Marquez into the Mexican Hulk. More boxers are climbing weight divisions now than they did back then.. :deal

GGG simply doesn't have what it takes to be great. He's fine fighting the guys he's fighting. I'll be honest, I would too. Picking up a swift milly from beating up bums is the way to go. :deal

Ward's doing that this weekend, although he does have an excuse.. What's GGG's? :hey

^^^This, GGG he's just as bold I'm sure he just doesn't have the "kind" of attributes and style to be successful at HW. As good as he is if you asked him to move up to heavy weight within the next couple of fights he'd get starched by most fighters ranked in the top 15-20

  12. He could build himself up to it. I guess being the hype job that he is he will wait for Welters and Super Welters to move up. Hagler 2.0

I would love to see PBF fight GGG. Tell him to move down to 154 and make the fight. PBF will box circles around his ass even at 38. After the fight there will be someone else that he's scared of.

no, because GGG wouldn't spend his days at McD's like Toney, eating his way up to 250 lbs
