I honestly cant remember if he does or doesnt but have a feeling he usually comes in just under. Tonight he looked great as usual but a tad drained and ran straight for the water. He usually looks a bit more comfortable at the weight he come in to weight in at. Im not saying its going to do him any harm and im not saying he struggled to make weight, if there is a slight change to the norm im sure it is planned and im just wondering if he is anticipating how big Canelo is going to come in and is maybe looking to come in a little heavier himself.
Jarrett Hurd is the biggest 154lber you ever did see and he has been outweighed on the scale more often than not, some big blokes like to make sure they don't miss weight. In the ring these blokes are 2 weight classes bigger than their opponents.
Yes. In fact, he's weighed 159-159¾ for 30 of his fights. He's only weighed 160 x 4 and over 160 x2, by 1lb and 1lb¼ respectively. He was 158½ for the remaining fight.
If you have to weigh 160, then that is the weight you have to make. Both fighters looked pretty good to me. (Not to be compared to Gatti, who made weight at 140, then was 170 lbs at fight time and almost killed that guy in the ring)
