Does Giovanni Lorenzo have a shot to beat A. Abraham???

He has enough pop to carry him to at least the B level (whereas a shot Marquez is generally a C+)., and IMO he's not horrible fundamentally. Certainly nothing special. As noted earlier in the thread, I give him less than zero shot at Abraham (who is terrific but not unbeatable). So it's not like I'm hyping the guy up. I just think that calling a shot-as-hell Raul Marquez a better fighter based on a single "last stand" upset is putting the horse before the cart. Who would you pick if they fought a rematch tomorrow?

 

I didn't say that. I just clarified someone else's opinion for you since you didn't catch it when they said it. And he confirmed it below. Personally, I've only seen Lorenzo fight twice and don't have much of an opinion to be perfectly honest about it.

 

Probably Lorenzo, under the pretense that he will actually learn how to fight a southpaw. I'd still pick a lot of C+ fighters to beat Lorenzo though, and I don't think he's 'the best opposition Abraham has faced in a while'. Joval was one I mentioned. LaJuan Simon is another. Khoren Gevor would destroy him. Ayala would put up a good fight. Miranda is about a 50/50 fight.

 

I'd take Marquez and Bronco McKart right now over Lorenzo anyday. Lorenzo is a c class fighter at best. It doesn't matter if Raul Marqeuz was shot or not. Look at Erik Morales who beat up David Diaz(I don't care what the judges say Morales won that fight). Lorenzo lost because he's not as good as you think he is. And looking at his past fights I haven't been impressed once.
